Najimi is just Najimi(obvious joke aside, Najimi is basically a running gag, we actually don’t know their gender whenever the characters use pronouns to describe Najimi they usually just say she/he because they don’t know her/his gender.

The sex/ gender of Najime is irrelevant to their character. They are there to fill the childhood friend trope which is a gender neutral role.

Najime is Najime and the sex/ gender of them doesn’t matter. The ambiguity of their sex/ gender is a joke in itself.

Najimi is such a joke that the mangaka even stopped putting even minimal effort in drawing Najimi's face.

Everyone else is normal while she is always just a doodle that vaguely looks like her shape of head and hair.

Najimi's gender doesnt matter.

If you want Najimi to be a cross-dressing dude or a girl that is bullshitting everyone, is up to you.
Read this if you want to start the Fate/ series but don't know from where.

while tadano did say a guy in a dress, and there have been hints that they’re a guy, it’s unknown. While i’d like to think Najimi is either non-binary or genderfluid, i’ll just settle for not questioning it. Najimi is Najimi.

Najimi is Najimi. It’s a running gag that throughout the 300+ chapters it is unknown. The are consistently referred to as both she, he, they and even “he/she,” some characters include question marks after saying he or she or referring them to a girl or boy due to being unsure. On a few occasions they are even referred to as it, with many characters asking them and it’s usually either a straightforward answer that they don’t believe or a super ambiguous answer. In Middle school they wore a masculine gakuran and asked to be referred to by the masculine suffix -kun when referring to them, (which is why Tadano thought they were a guy when Najimi is first introduced) And then in high school they wear the feminine skirt but male necktie, here they insist on using the feminine suffix -Chan, even referring to themselves as Najimi-Chan occasionally but in moments when it’s convenient to them, such as when a male friend confessed to them, they said they were a guy when rejecting them. Most characters use both or either masculine or feminine suffix and pronouns when referring to them, nobody, even teachers know their true birth, though most overlook Najime as a male presence, especially in comparison to Tadano. They are well liked by both guys and girls and don’t seem to have a preference between who they become friend with. Of course it doesn’t help that they have no noticeable chest and that their height is below the average for both males and females. In the first delusions chapter when a few of the guys talk about which of the girls they would date the first they talk about is Najimi, revealing that they see them as a girl. During the pool chapter when they go to changing rooms Najimi tries to go with the girls only for Tadano to make them change in the mixed gender toilets, while swimming they wear a crop top/swimsuit top and a pair of shorts with a jacket over it. When they go to Kyoto, at the inn they stay at Najimi has their bath before anyone else, and all the girls get a weird look on their face and question if Najimi is going to sleep with them in the same room which they end up doing. We never meet their parents or any relatives so we don’t know what they consider to be Najimi’s gender. Personally I think I head canon them as genderfluid but I think male-to-female trans would make sense too. The most canon thing you can assume is that they’re genderqueer at the very least

It's entirely possible Najimi was cross-dressing in middle school. and that absolutely no one who knows Najimi has any idea what's between their legs, nor does it really matter.

Najimi is so confident and assured in themself that they can live in that ambiguity, and maintain the ~mystery~

Ultimately I think more than anything else it's hardcore commitment to the bit. Najimi is nothing if not someone who commits wholeheartedly to the bit.

imo Najimi also falls into the same category as Opera in Iruma-kun: someone too powerful for binary gender. One who has fought and defeated the Gender God, and carries the appropriate level of swagger.

what is Najimi's gender? Yes.
