How come the discussion on this sub-forum seems pretty dead for an ongoing (and not super obscure) series?

Question is as in the title

Just wondering because it seemed pretty noticeable even from the second season's premiere, but now especially that we are five episodes and a month into the new season.

Is it just because only Inuyasha diehards are remaining and a lot of people dropped the series during or after the first season? I know and realize full well that second and later seasons of any anime have a higher barrier of entry since there is a dropoff by people who didn't like or want to watch the first season (there are a number of anime series for which I've only watched the first season and don't have any interest or plans in the foreseeable future to watch the other later seasons), but the difference seems pretty radical and stark here.

I miss the buzz of renewed interest in Inuyasha this generated a year ago, even though that is still ongoing in some circles online, but apparently not much on MAL. Remember October of 2020? It's like night and day. There isn't even a single review posted for this yet and usually after MAL starts permitting reviews to be posted following the fourth episode airing (beyond the initial glitch when some are sometimes allowed to be posted early), there is a flood of reviews on that same day, even for some less popular series.

Yeah this show deserves way more hype than it’s been getting, ESPECIALLY from all the hardcore Inuyasha fans, when I first saw the trailer for season one I got insanely excited because Inuyasha was my first ever anime and huge part of my childhood. So the fact that Yashahime is a thing that exists at all in the first place is amazing in my eyes, I always wondered as a young kid what Kagome’s child looked like, so now seeing the canon story continue and being able to return to that world that affected me so much as a kid is really really awesome! This show also gets wayyy too much hate in my opinion, people always talking about the story and saying it sucks and that it’s not as good but I rewatched the entirety of Inuyasha before Yashahime came out and I think it’s just as good as the OG. I think the reason is because Takahashi isn’t doing the story anymore so y’all shouldn’t take the story too seriously to begin with, I’m mostly focused on the characters that was what I always enjoyed the most about the Inuyasha franchise was the wonderful characters and that is what I got so attached to when I was a kid. In conclusion Yashahime deserves more love, it’s a privilege that we Inuyasha fans have this let’s enjoy it to the fullest :)
