Recently, I've noticed, the Western side of the fandom is barely alive. The reddit page lacks discussions, there're hardly any new fan videos on YouTube. But I know for a fact that there're many people who LOVE Idolish7, they just remain quiet.

Do you feel that Idolish7 needs more recognition? Have you ever recommended it to someone?

In my opinion, I7 may not be a masterpiece, but it still has a very good story. Even if you're not a fan of idols or bishounens, you can't deny it has a very solid storyline, exceptional direction (seriously, it's one of the best anime adaptations I've seen so far) and fascinating character development. And sometimes it makes me really sad that no one gives this show even a chance...

I'd like to know your thoughts on this...

I would want I7 to become popular because I love the storyline and some of the characters are easy to relate to to some extent with great character development and also because I have a thing for male idol animes… I also think their music are great and I even memorized most of them lol. I usually recommend it to some people but sometimes it’s just that they don’t like idol anime, but if it becomes popular I would be very happy

I wish it was more popular, but being a male idol series means it's probably destined for obscurity here. I'd be surprised if Third Beat part 2 even breaks 5k members

If look Japanese streaming site it has very low view, only 192K. Ranking 29/31.

For BD around 2673 copies, dont know it will reach 10k copies like previous season.

I'd hope so.

i7 is easily the best idol anime out there imo and has some amazing directing at times. The backstories are all very well done too and I love how they're not instantly solved by nakama power like other idol shows

There are typically more i7 fans on Twitter.

I'd even straight up say that it's a masterpiece. I've never seen a cast with chemistry this good since Haikyuu. The way it balances an ensemble cast and slow burn character development is similar too.

Also this season was the highest rated Summer 2021 anime on Filmarks, Japan's biggest review site. I can assure you that Japan is not sleeping on this show. The game is also doing well and is usually in the top 5 ranking of female-oriented games each month.

I really want it to be more popular! It's so hard to convince people to watch this show since it's an idol anime sigh. I've always talked about this game/anime on twitter but most of my mutuals don't feel like checking it out. I talk about how good the dynamics between the characters are, the great comedy and drama, etc (sometimes to the point that I might seem like I'm overhyping it) I can't help it since I really love this show lol

I want to see more fan content like fanfics, fan merch, fan art,, but I don't want it to be too popular- especially in the western side (a lot of fandoms with too much western fans become so chaotic and toxic, ex. bnha and genshin ) Just a lowkey but active fandom is enough for me :')

I really feel that. As long as I can enjoy it I don't care all that much about how many other English-speaking people are watching, though it's a shame so many will be turned off just because it's an idol show. They're missing out.

But it would be really nice if we could get IDOLiSH7 goods in the US. I've seen the manga and novels in Japanese bookstores, but there's not much else available here. I wanted to watch the second live, and the only way to get it was to have the special Blu-ray shipped from Japan. It was fantastic, and I've watched it multiple times, so I totally think it was worth it, but still that is expensive.

Absolutely. Im in complete awe and respect with how good the direction, animation, voice acting and storyline is. All the nuances, character developments and story-building are top notch: something i didnt find even in top animes nowadays. I know people sleep on it due to it being a 'male idol' show, but ive tried recommending it to everyone I know who watches anime. Hopefully the fanbase keeps expanding :'D

The whole show is madly underrated tbh. I dont know why there isnt any bustle over it.
Btw, do you guys think we'll get a season 4 anytime soon?

I'm hoping they'll announce it right after the 3rd season ends! Especially since they've already announced part 5 of the game story.
But honestly, I wish they made an ONA with event story before that. Or adapted Re:member, since now we know almost everything about Re:vale, and this ONA would be a nice addition.

On top of Re:member, I'm hoping we can get an adaptation of Antagonistic Quarter too.

More recognition for the best male idol game/show would be nice for sure, but I'm also glad it's not too big in popularity because usually the bigger the franchise's fanbase the more the fans can be kind of iffy haha.

I'm more happy that it has enough recognition to be getting these adaptations honestly. I watched season one before season two came out and I wasn't sure if it was ever going to get a season two because it wasn't extremely popular, but I'm so happy it did. Then we even got a third season not that long after. Feels miraculous in a way because I definitely didn't expect it.

Well it is popular in Japan and that's enough for me I don't care whether it's popular overseas or not and besides western fandom is toxic so it's better if it's stays underrated
