Spoilers to anyone that hasn’t seen ep4 of the ova

So how relife works is they choose some adult struggling in life and they have them live a high school life, as for Kaizaki and Hishiro they both were subjects that grew close to the people they met, made friends, hell even fell in love. They got lucky that they both were subjects and found eachother again, but what I’d think would end up happening with future subjects would be that they get too emotionally attached and form bonds and then after those are gone they go into a depression and end up worse than then when they were found. Sorry but I don’t like the idea of relife itself, still loved the anime tho👍

They will be in a situation similar to your name both of them forget about each other and think that they missing something important in life. I would not call it depression though. But they were able to live proper life

But that was just the case with Kaizaki and Hishiro. I’m talking about with future subjects

If you've ever watched "5 centimeters per second" you'd know. Once you reach a certain age you start seeing things like this differently.

ReLife gives subjects not the possibility to re-live from their high school years (the best years of ones life) onwards, but instead the opportunity to remember that there are more chances in life.

But if a subject were to fall in love with a student, for example: if hishiro was not also part of the program, what would have happened?

Then kaizaki wouldn't have forgotten her in the end, so he would not have felt something was amiss, and I'm sure he would've gotten over her as if he had met her in a dream.

Then he would have used that experience as motivation and proof that he could achieve the same thing if he tried as an adult. Because thats the mentality that most people over 23 have, and in the anime it is somewhat evident that they also have that mentality.

In short, more than make them dwell in what could have been, relife would give a somewhat mature adult motivation to go out there and try.

This was exactly the message I got from it. Well said
