I gotta say season 2 is better than 1. And the one thing i was interested in this season was “oikawa’s development”. As a person who disliked him in season 1, i cant say he changed THAT much, or to get in my top 5 characters to be more exact. I honestly didnt feel and see all the hype of oikawa everyone talked about for this season. And i have to let this out of me, some people actually like him because of his looks, which sounds pretty dumb to me when compared to actual writing of the character. However we all have our opinions, some people hate/dislike him and some people like/love him. Feel free to discuss

I love to hate him. He’s a very complex character, but I do love the villainous energy he brings and it makes him that much more appealing as a character and plot creator.

I agree season 2 was better than season 1 not necessarily because of oikawa but more so with everyone’s development towards their character and volleyball especially Hinatas and Kageyamas relationship

your title is a bit genreal, as you expressed multiple points, but did not specify on which one you want us to answer regarding if we think it's wrong or not.

therefore, i'll try to answer if i agree with most points one by one.

is season 2 better than season 1? yes. i also think that season 3 is even better, but that season 4 is worse than both, maybe still better than the first.

is oikawa a low tier haikyuu character? no, i like him quite a bit. maybe not as much as the fandom but i thought he was cool and fairly well developed, but he's probably not on my top 5 so maybe i do agree somewhat.

do some fans like him for his character design? sure. is that dumb? not at all. people like stuff for different reasons and in different ways, i don't see why writing must be more important than this element of visual presentation, that just like a character's writing, speaks more to some than to others..

Imo season 2 was the best season so far, but that's just me.

As for Oikawa, I've liked him from the moment he was introduced, and after season 1 he became my favorite character, and still is. He is the most real character in the series, and I like him because of that.

Every season is a 10/10 for me coz it's my favourite series and yes I'm biased...(You don't necessarily have to agree with me)
And Oikawa is a freaking amazing character, if you don't like him then that's your personal opinion...
Not everybody feels the same..!!

Honestly I also don't like Oikawa's personality, though I can certainly say that he's one of the best written characters in Haikyuu. It comes back to personal preferences, because he's a complex character. Unpopular opinion, you can say that a character is well written and still hate the character 🤷‍♀️
