I watched for 4 episodes when it was airing and I don’t understand the appeal. The girls are cute but that’s it. The story is boring and forgettable as heck in my opinion. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Yes, it is. There is barely any story and whole anime is just fanservice.
In episode 6, for example, literally NOTHING happened besides ecchi.

Yeah, it's very boring.
I watched the first season and not even I understand how I did it.
When the second season started in less 2 minutes I left it, the only thing that is ok is the design of characters but not much is very meh.

I agree, I just decided to watch it because I play the game alot and realized one of my favorite mai- I mean shipgirl was one of the main characters. But man aside from the story I love how I can easily notice the quality drop from episode 5, also had to wait 2 months for the anime to resume ;-;

Honestly yea, they didn't execute the anime very well, if you want the story and know more about the girls you need to have either played the game or go play it after watching the anime. But I don't think it would be right either to shit on the whole series just because the anime wasn't that good. And also, yes, learn naval history.

There are plenty of users that regard this anime as boring. For me, the Slow Ahead spinoff is the real Azur Lane.

This anime is just only about "FANSERVICE". Just freaking play the game cuz its free on play store/app store and doesnt contain pedophile fanservices!

Azur Lane is one of the most boring anime I've ever watched. I didn't understand what it was about and there are many characters and I don't know who is against whom or why they are fighting. I got to the 5th episode and I honestly don't feel like watching any more, so I'm keeping it on hold. I also watched Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! which was amazing. But this is painfully boring, except for maybe a few ecchi scenes which are also not exactly what I like to watch.

The premise is so ridiculous, myself who knows nothing about the games or anything else about this series, it's mindless battle heavy fun with a bunch of fanservice thrown in for good measure. Pretty entertaining, though I hope they didn't expect me to remember every damn character in this show, all 1427 of them lol
