don't know about "happy ending" but it ends with a reasonable ending. Masami acted like how a 45 year old should, imo if they ended together I would have been disappointed. So yeah, don't know if it's happy or not but it's good for akira, as she goes back to track running and good for masami too.

I absolutely loved the ending, even though a part of me did wish they got together, the ending definitely wrapped up the show very well. Tachibana and Kondou both taught each other so much about themselves, and while they can't be together now, I believe that the ending premise was go live your dream and I will be here for you when you fulfill the promises you made to yourself in the past.

I think it ended just right and on a positive note. I give it am 8/10. Would've been awkward if the ending was like the manga with Kondo.

Though I Would've liked if there was a 5-6 year epilogue with Yuto crushing on Tachibana in college now.

I personally love that ending! Even though i kinda wish they ended up together, i knew it will be controversial cause some audience would not want to see that. I love that it has an open ending. I also felt like i'm being teased and given a hope on their relationship, because they said some things like, "Tell me when you fullfiled your promise," and "I will never forget," which left you wonder about what could happen in the future. So inconclusion, it could be considered as happy ending in some way? Idk and sorry for bad english haha

I say yes. The two MC behaving in a tolerable way to each other, Akira getting back on track with her life with her friend and her Yui+dufus finally getting some love.
Tasteful even though the certain age gap was lingering in my head from EP 1-12 being my only gripe.

I would say yes. I think this romance was portrayed in a way that made me feel like they truly didn't have love interest in each other, but rather needed each other to heal up their wounds and to get to know themselves better. That's why I love the ending so much, because it end with a nice friendship, that was able to make them move on with their life, and continue with their dreams! As I said on another post, it really shows how meeting the right person at the right time can save your life!

Just look at the synopsis and try to imagine the most obvious, least controversial and most boring way it could turn out.
