| She's crazy average. There is nothing memorable about her in the SLIGHTEST. Since this is a josei manga, she's probably supposed to be a self-insert. I don't like when stories are written that way... @bastek66 But there are ton of shoujo/josei series MCs that are NOT like that....they are actually more like people. Rachel is twisted and tragic. Tohru is the sweetest soul to walk the earth. Hana is spunky and snarky. Yona is a bit naive but full of fire. Mitsuki is stubborn and shy but still very brave. Unlike those girls...Ichika doesn't really have a personality...um...she's nerdy about anime...I guess....but not as much as other girls before her like Kae and Konata...so she just kinda fades away into mediocrity. xD |

| She's a "blank slate" main character. Like Bella in Twilight. A one-dimensional entity with no special traits of any sort, such that all the one-dimensional people with no special traits of their own can easily relate to her, identify with her, and ultimately feel good about themselves knowing that. (FTR Twilight was a shit series, but IMO Mouthbreather's lack of personality isn't what made it so) |
