| I can't even fathom the reason why an author would draw a manga where every single character just casually goes commando. Is this common sense in-universe? Is the author just extremely horny on main and desperate? Even if you want to include heavy fanservice in your manga, why would you visually confirm that nobody in this world is wearing any kind of underwear? This is 100% canon for some reason Seriously, every time I see an explicit shot of no-panties under a skirt I can't wrap my head around it. Why would someone even do this? There's something very uncomfortable about seeing pure skin where a pantyshot should be. It's so extremely unconventional and uncanny. The grim reminder that these girls are basically naked in national television every 5 panels makes it hard to take this manga seriously lmao     |

| I know this is an old topic but i personally really love this about Saki. It doesn't have to be overly horny. Going without panties is actually quite healthy so long as you have a skirt or something between you and where you sit to avoid infections. It's also very comfortable. It's something girls, trans, and female-minded people tend to understand more. Panties are also mostly a modern invention and we're kind of the odd ones in human history for insisting on skin-sight coverage of reproductive areas. I personally wish more artists, authors and other such would be more willing to do things like this to show you can be more free and exposed without it being excessively sexual or coming off as perverse. In Saki it clearly isn't a point of sexualization, as nobody seems to pay it any mind, because it's ordinary there, and that makes it charming. |
