Exactly what the title implies. Whether it's a painful adaptation or simply done by GONZO, post any series which you think could have been handled better.
For me, I am required to mention Last Exile at every single one of these opportunities.
For one, get rid of every character that had minimal to no contribution to the story, or at least put them all as background characters, with many of them acting as, say, high school students. Then give a legitimate backstory for Alex and Delphine's rivalry other than, "SHE WAS SMILING AT ME THE WHOLE TIME, YET NEVER DID ANYTHING!" While we're at it, we could make Alex the protagonist as well, and make sure it feels as if he's a serious threat to the Guild. Keep in the chess motifs, replace the lame vanship designs with more stylish mecha counterparts, keep Yuris alive but blind and wheelchair-bound so as to still give Alex motivation, and cast some other Guild member as an accomplice to Alex who gives him the power to cripple the Guild and Delphine. Finally, in preparation for funding, throw in as many Pizza Hut sponsorships as possible.
With these improvements and more, I can rest assured that the new "Code Exile: Silvana of the Rebellion" will be a big hit in 2009.
I would have rewritten the entire thing so it didn't suck, while maintaining the plot's actual developments. Basically, just writing the whole thing exactly the same but better.
But, my pick for a KyoAni remake would instead be Martian Successor Nadesico. And I mean really remade, with a style reminiscent of Lucky Star with the "dark" humor of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Ohohoho.
That sounds good.
All anime made by Gonzo needs to be remade, by anyone. I don't care as long as it ain't Gonzo.
