Personally I dislike it and thought the characters were badly made and addressed the age gap problem poorly, but that doesn’t mean I disrespect yo ur opinion, it’s fine to ljke a show like this, but personally I like the Higewosoru anime that just came out as well, I recommend that but this ones a lot more comedic and not really addressing the problems etc. though I respect your opinion

Their reactions are funny to me and it's pretty enjoyable I'd say.

Actually i love both the shows but. Hige o soru is slightly unrealistic for me. Dont get me wrong its enjoyable no doubt. But still not believable,

The comedy is quite entertaining. The way the characters interact is the key bit here. IT's a little bit cringe but there's some whit in there too.

I don't quite get the issues being raised in the reviews. Can anyone really says that if Ichika were 18 and Ryou 28, rather than 17 and 27, that people would be kicking up as much of a fuss.? I don't think so. This issue isn't the age gap, it's that one character is a minor, which I will say is a valid concern in certain contexts. But I think the people decrying this as an ode to paedophilia are going a bit overboard here. I don't know the source material, but from what I've seen so-far, it doesn't look nefarious, I'm fairly confident that nothing dodgy is going to happen.

Like some others have said, Higehiro, is very similar except for the fact that the male protag is has no interest in a relationship. But realistically to an outside observer the situation would be far more suspect.

Actually its a japanese anime. nd they are happy about it. Only the western countries and other countries find it bad imo.

I mean being slightly unrealistic like a man allows a girl to stay buys her clothers and phone..without cntacting the police is slightly unreslitis so that i cant enjoy it thata much as of koi to yobu. Doesnt mean i hate it. I love both but koi to yobu have more a lead for me

Age gap is a social construct, this is fiction, he’s not actively taking advantage of her as she is fully aware and could say “stay away from me you old pervert”

I like the dynamic between them, ichika sees herself as plain and Ryo is seen as a playboy and you can tell it’s trying to prove the opposite.

I prefer higehiro personally because I feel it has better character development but maybe I just like a little more drama.

Me too, I don't mind age gap and I'm enjoying this anime. My aunt has 12 years age difference with her husband, so I can understand that.

In the end, this is just anime, unrealistic romance-comedy anime. A handsome and well-established 27 y.o guy chasing a 17 y.o girl just because the girl helped him and said "a kiss? it's disgusting." is quite unrealistic. About the stalking problem, if this happens in real life then the girl would definitely report him to her parents and her parents would do something (in the anime, instead of being on guard, Ichika's mom supported them which is quite unrealistic).

I'm in the same boat as you.

I was wrestling in my head for a bit if it's okay to enjoy something like this but then I remembered, when I was a student I had crushes on men that were over 40 and I fantasised about being in a relationship with them. Probably daddy issues but still, I would've consented.

you can like what you want but dont expect others to share your opinion. i like some questionable series as well but im not proud that i like them. i guess this one fits into that category kind of like a gulity pleasure

the age gap is not the problem. her being underage is the issue. this series would be a lot more enjoyable for me if the girl was like 22 and the guy 32.

the issue is also his creepy behaviour of stalking her and offering her a kiss when he didnt even liked her.

also he just tried to intimidate an innocent underage guy because he was getting too friendly with his prey and our mc felt threatened by it.

like what a looser. what adult behaves like that towards a high school boy?
is she not allowed to talk to other guys now?

overall i dont like the series but i dont judge people who do. just dont brag about liking it in a public place lol

japan has a big problem of creeps like this mc harrassing underage girls
even more than in western countries
so no they are not happy about it

There's nothing wrong with you, the anime is funny and enjoyable. Although, I cant ignore the age gap, my parents have about a 15 year age gap and I never thought nothing of it because they both met when they were already adults. There's something that just slightly creeps me out how he has slept with many women his age but suddenly he's head over heels over a crush on a high schooler.

This anime is really good, the age gap just makes it even funnier because it’s an adult who takes a liking in a high school girl and she’s the one who keeps rejecting him. I think it’s a good anime.

yeah an adult is crushing on a high school under aged girl thats soo hilarious i just cant stop laughing what an amazing premise.
they should make more anime like this one but next time the adult should go for middle schoolers that would be even funnier no?

i think that’s too much of an age gap, also, the middle schooler wouldn’t know how to react to some things and we wouldn’t get the same emotion. I think a high schooler is as low as they can go for and adult age gap. Maybe a high schooler crushing on a middle schooler would be funny.

we can just make the adult younger like 22 then its totally fine for him to be crushing on a middle schooler right? the age gap will be the same as here
and it will be sooo funny im literally dying laughing thinking about it

Wait, so you're saying a 22 years old going after a 12 years old would be funny and cool because the age gap is the same? Wow...

Yes you are. There is something wrong with you. You need some help and quick. You've caught the internet woke disease! It's fiction just enjoy w/e you like; not like internet will burn you alive irl for liking this. If you let other dipshits on the internet and irl influence your views and opinions; are you even you? Might as well join a cult at that point to brainwash yourself at that point :3 Either that or you're too self-conscious and worry too much about other's opinion rather than your own damn opinion.

TLDR; In case you don't know already; dipshits on the internet just say shit for the memes [like me] or internet ego [cancerous]

I don't mind the age gap love if....

1. the young is the one who fall for the old one. not the other way.
2. not forcing, like they fall in love like a normal people
3. the young'un already graduate high school and pass the legal age.

truthfully I'm okay with this anime, if Ryou isn't an ex-womanizer, or he at least wait for Ichika to graduate High School, then go for her like normal. I hope Ichika didn't develop her feelings to him now, rather develop it after some timeskip or something.
