After watching episode 1, I teared up a bit from the Mom's backstory and thought it was okay. Then I found out that there's a episode 1.1 in which it is a 9minute video about the 4 CVs going to the same setting/town as the anime to explore the pottery culture.

I hate to break it to you, but most anime are advertisment campaigns....

not only are all anime ads for their source material, but an anime being a tourist campaign isn’t a bad thing imo, and i like the anime anyway so who cares if it’s used to advertise a cool place

Most likely done for budget reasons, it is not unusual for anime to do that.

It's actually advertising to the point that they make the girls walk half a kilometre detour to school just to show the (not really that spectacular) Tajimi Bridge....

Not that I really mind though, even when I probably just gonna watch the animated part and at best skip trough the .1-episodes. And if they do a good job, I might even include Tajimi in one of my next Japan-trips once travel is possible again.

Nothing new. It was the same thing with Natsuiro Kiseki and the city of Shimoda 2012, and it was a nice show with the advertising beeng fairly discrete in the background.

I really want this anime, and the live action special episodes, to tell me more about Tajimi City in southern Gifu! :D

Tons of legitimately great anime are. The Eccentric Family is one of the most phenomenal coming of age stories of the 2010's and it also doubles as an advertisement for tourism in kyoto with the eyecatches being literal maps of locations in the series. Most people watching don't even notice its got ties to a tourism company and just enjoy the show all on its own.

If anything these shows usually improve cause of their ties, cause it often creates beautiful optimistically viewed envirements to match the show's tone, the aforementioned eccentric family really owes a ton of character to its vibrant locales.

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

Nothing wrong with that at all, as long as the content is good.

There were a lot of anime that ties with local city or tourism. And, it was quite a successful campaign to do so. Looks at Numazu city for an example.

Yakunara Mug Cup mo will make people knows more about Tajimi, makes them visit the city more. Local people and local economy will got a benefit from this anime.

I don't think that's necessarily a negative thing

To be fair, ALL AniManga are advertisements to their original source material.

The mix between anime and live-action isn't new, there were some shows that tried this concept before, but a commentary side like this is nice because we've haven't had an attachment like this before (well, if you discount NHK World shows).

There are two legal options— Crunchyroll and Ani-One Asia YT Channel (This one only works in SEA regions)

I guess it’s normal, even there’s an advertisement for Tottori and some other animes on Uzaki-chan

I think the likes of non non biyori is also (sort of) an advertisement for simple life in the countryside
