I absolutely can't wait! The girl from the other side is my favorite manga of all time. My heart dropped when I saw this...I watched the OVA a few times, can't get over it as it saddens me everytime I watch it again. Nagabe is one of my favorite writers...his books are amazing in my opinion.
(Love on The Other Side, The Wize Wize Beasts of the Wizarding Wizdoms, etc) In a sense, also was kind of life-changing to me. :)

Sadly the story is coming to an end, I'm currently waiting for book 10. Have any of you already read book 10's story? I know it's already out in the native language, but no translation yet...I'm so hyped, but also scared for the (last?) Story.

Also, at the end of the teaser, it said "Kickstarter", what does that exactly mean? I know kickstarter is a site where people can help donate to developers and receive goodies. But I'm not sure if it's the same thing in context perhaps what was written at the end of the video? (can't read it sadly.)

One last fluff and recommendation:
I have a little collection from The Ancient Magus Bride and The Girl from the Other Side.

They're both my fave manga/anime stories because they share the same interest of approach. Especially since Magus Bride took notes and inspiration from Nagabe's story.(They even did small collabrations!) Definitely recommend watching it if you haven't seen it, if you like "The Girl From the Other Side" stories!

They are planning to fund part of the OVA through kickstarter (similar to what Trigger did with the Little Witch Academia OVA back in 2016) from March 10 to May. Hopefully there will be incentive to back it tho

I can really much relate to this. I'm so happy I tried picking up the story, it was so touching. It's just...different than most other love & friendship stories. unique in a sense. was so pulled into it, more than anything else I had read!

March 10 it will start? awesome! so an actual kickstarter...I'd love to fund this. Was there any info in that video where they'd post updates for this particular kickstarter?

So I imagine if the Kickstarter does really well like Little Witch Academia they might make a full tv series? I was just losing hope this would get an adaptation, but honestly, just even another OVA is nice. We need to share this Kickstarter everywhere now. It could literally decide an adaptation or not.

I did hear that Nagabe really wanted to air this particular story, and since it just gets more and more popularity over time...I suppose they wanted to give it a chance. People seem to be incredibly passionate when it comes to Kickstarters if it has a good motive. I haven't seen Anime kickstarters however...but I suppose it's possible it could do really well, like you mentioned.

I'm gonna try n go full throttle sharing it, haha! Will make some fanart and post it around. Did it for a few other kickstarters and it did work out/helped out at least a little.
It's fun to make fanart of this story...I did some in the past. And honestly it's incredible how many people DO actually search up The Girl from the Other Side.

We need to make as much publicity as possible :D

I am gonna share the fudge out of this as well. The more people that can know the better. Nagabe wanting it to be animated helps as well and gives me more hope. I am glad they are giving it a shot. We fans need to do some work advertising it. And that fan art is yours? Really nice work. It resembles the original style while having your own flair. I really like it.

Thank you very much! It seems that people mostly love to see as-close-to-original-style fanart, if I'd call it that. Because I suppose Nagabe's style is just special as it is, and what people intially fell in love with.

I absolutely hope this Kickstarter pops off...
There are so many passionate fans even for the most niche and hidden gems kind of games/anime/etc.
It's mostly amazing to see *those* kind of fans come together and combine their efforts.

I know I have my wallet fudging ready. I just hope it gains a lot of support numbers-wise. I mean in terms of the number of people. That will help a lot.

if one episode costs around 10 million yen, then conversion to USD puts their funding received for LWA at at around 6 episodes... I wonder if the studio also contributed some funds? Well, they must have, if it has 25 episodes, right?

I still need to finish watching LWA but it's a great series so far. I'm glad they got funded so well!

The kickstarter was made only to increase the length of the LWA movie: Enchanted Parade from 20 minutes to 35 minutes (and ultimately to 50 minutes). The 25 episode TV anime that you are talking about was funded like any other anime, not through the kickstarter.

Ah, I see! I didn't know there was a short film, I should watch that sometime. I guess the popularity inspired them to make the full series later on. <3
