okay so i rewatched the pv one more time , and i saw something that made my alarm bells to go crazy ........
THERE IS ACTUALLY A SHOT OF THE CHIKA-BOOM AND HYUSE IN UNIFORM IN THE PV FOR SEASON 2 !!! WAT DA FACK??

if i remember correctly , the 1st season ended at around ch 124 right ?? and the chika-boom takes place somewhere around ch174 (in round 7 ?) ..... 50 chapters for 12 eps ? isnt that WAAAY TOO cramped ? ........ again this is all just specluation ....
i was guessing that the 2nd season would be the galopoula invasion arc , round 5 rank battle and maybe hyuse's ranking arc , which would have been a perfect place to end it for me ...... but now....

what do u guys think of this? there is no way they are adapting 50 chapters in the 2nd season itself are they?
(of course this is all under the speculation that this season is 12 eps , if it is 24 then we will be totally fine , but i highly doubt it.....)

there is gonna be another cour (season 3) maybe with that they will adapt it until then? because i think at most they will do 2-3 chapters an episode

as far as i know, they announced thats theres only 1 cour which mean only 13-14 eps per season, but they already make annoucement about season 3 too right ? for season 2 i think they will animate whole galopula arc , hyuse decided to join tamakoma and first rank with 4 man. at least thats what i thought it gonna be, for season 3 its gonna be until ..... about ninomiya but well im not gonna let non-manga readers know whats ahead XD

yeah i agree. and about ninomiya do you mean

(not sure if its a spoiler but still gonna put the tag on it)
if they plan on making a 4th season, they might adapt the most recent manga chapters for a cliffhanger, but it will probably take a reaaaally long time till that season because the recent chapters are rather short and it is known that the author's health ain't the best.

I have a feeling this will be an oddly structured season unless they adapt the manga in a different order. The second large-scale invasion happened too soon but was too small scale compared to the first, and the looooong tournament arc was just too much to do all at once.

Plus with the hiatuses, the anime is going to catch up to the manga really quickly.

I hope they pull an Attack on Titan and change stuff from the manga to improve the watch feel, while still hitting all the important parts.

I'm pretty sure they will adapt the invasion and then the whole next arc.

I think the PV could also include things for season 3 so that wouldn't worry me for now.

Judging by the opening, I guess they will cover Galopoula and then Round 5 and 6 of the rank battles, as Katori/Kakizaki and Ikoma/Oji squads get the same representation in the opening. They also went out of their way to include shots of Ikoma and Oji units at the beginning of the Galopoula attack. Unless this was something the manga did as well and I just forgot about it. Meanwhile, I didn't spot Yuba anywhere (?) so it seems likely they only showed the important ones.

This might result in a rather fast-paced season but since Ikoma squad is probably my favourite, I'm glad to hopefully already get to see them animated this season. But one also shouldn't forget that season 1 was kind of slow and even dragged at times so this might be a good change afterall.

both seasons will probably adapt to the end of the selection tournament arc. But to be honest that's all that left to adapt. the manga isn't that far ahead.

Isn't season 3 actually just the second cour? It seems logical to assume that they could cover 50 chapters over 22-26 episodes. That seems doable. The manga was weekly for most of it, so I'd assume the chapters are standard Shounen Jump 20 ish pages? Doing 2 chapters at that length is pretty doable. Attack On Titan has been covering 2 to 3 chapters most of its runtime, and they're 40+ page chapters. The pacing is decent, mostly. So mayhe there isn't much reason to worry.
