Well, the fight for the best of Japan is here. The weather is bad outside but overall excitement is great inside the building.

Episode felt slightly rushed but the buildup didn't waste time with the actual competitive energy of this finale. I didn't really have anyone in particular to cheer for but everyone tried their best so thats' what really matters.

The finals of the Combined Cup, and all the star rivals are wrecking the entire competition apart, with the obnoxious Anne Kurusu being the popular idol character as always.

The Hanamiya team with the trio pairing of Konomi, Jun and Nonoka, "The Road to Best in Japan" might be a stretch of a tough challenge...but it's the team spirit that'll prevail them all throughout all 3 sport climbing disciplines.

At this point, it seems like the Climbing Princess can do everything...ALMOST. An easy win over Konomi at Speed Climbing (even with the taunting bait, she did her personal best in her worst discipline, so that's more than enough), but failing at Lead Climbing and keeping the faze, that's Cool Kurusu for you, in both good and bad times.

Even so, it's damn PREDICTABLE that everyone will fail (even Jun and Nonoka, a good attempt though), and the role is thrown back to the dark horse "Murder Observation" Konomi to clear this problem once and for all, of course. Puzzle game elements + strength + speed will complete her journey for a fitting finish, and as expected, she aces it.

A unique show that's seriously held back by the non-sporting and CGDCT elements. Could've been good, but alas, all is sub-par.

This turned out to be more of a character drama / CGDCT show than a sports climbing show, but it was still an entertaining weekly watch.

Looks like they simply went straight to the point for this final episode. Not too sure how to feel about the last 4 minutes of the episode though. Felt like they cut a lot. Guess that's an anime adaptation for a short 4 volume manga for ya.

This series was okay. Interesting topic of choice, but wasn't executed to a level that I would enjoy enough. Characters aren't cardboard cut-outs at least, and the road from newbie to the best was somewhat okay.

Congratz to the girls for becoming #1 on japan. Anne made a mistake and couldn't send the route but Konomi did it. Nono and Jun were great too. Nono's climbing was cute and wow she even scored 40 damn. Thou it really is a shame we didn't get to see Sayo climb.

Pretty decent anime overall. I'm glad we got to see the full story and they didn't leave us with a cliffhanger.

well...and that's how you can be a climbing master. From gaming to climbing, close enough.

They won in the end but not sure if it is deserved tbh. Although Anne-chan is cancer pure. Shittalking your opponents is just low level.

Ann's personality is even worse than i thought but at least she wasn't upset about her loss at the end.

Anyway it's a shame this is over i enjoyed it a lot and would have loved to see more.
Still Konomi improved a lot over the course of the anime and she got where she wanted to be.

Glad that Kurusu lost. I get it's her character, but god she was annoying lol. Which means she's doing her role perfect because of it.

Was a funish show, pretty decent overall.

Anne has a shit personality but she's still one of my favorite characters of Iwa Kakeru.

I started watching this for the cute girls(with abs) doing cute things but it had some forced drama, which I hate in these kind of shows. Nonoka was my favorite character, she is so cute and she makes you want to protect her. Konomi and Sayo was alright but I didn't like Jun, her passion for climbing made her a gatekeeper.

Overall, it was average. 5/10.

ya know, this would have been better if Anne Kurusu would have also trash talked other girls like that of the bunny girl and then getting to own them, but, as an antagonist, her character was simply wasted on Konomi.

Very predictable end for this anime, overall it had the potential to be really good but unfortunately it was meh at the end, but well at least it was entertaining to watch thanks to the good OST, good colors and that the subject is pretty good, but it's kinda a waste of potential

And so Konomi fails to best Anne in 1 on 1, but as a team they do surpass hers. How sweet. If I were giving awards for the shows I've been watching from the Fall 2020 anime season there's one in particular I could easily see this show winning: Most disappointing. Through 3 or 4 episodes or so this series was a fun, enjoyable cute girls doing cute things sports show. Whenever they met the white haired girl and her dad while actually climbing that one big rock was the last genuinely good episode, I forget which that was specifically. Pretty much from the start of the first competition this fell off a cliff(heh) for me, and why? Shitty, forced artificial drama nonsense. To be fair to an extent most sports series fall victim to this, but in this one none of it worked for me. Oh, Jun gets psyched out by falling behind her junior? Oh, Nono is too short and the first one out despite being a senior to two other members? Oh, Sayo...hurt her finger? Seriously, they couldn't even be bothered with another way of getting Sayo out of the picture than hurting her finger. It was all such horseshit. Is horseshit one word? It is now! And I don't even remember what Konomi's drama was. She lacks the experience so fails in speed and stamina? Whoopee. By the way how jarring did it feel to shoe-horn an entire second competition into the last episode and a quarter anyway? And making Anne an obnoxious obstacle in the last few episodes felt dumb too. As it is, character design was probably the strongest aspect of this one. Konomi, Evil Spider Girl and particularly Sayo were very sexy character design-wise. Which I guess would be opposite of a cute girls doing cute things show as I generally don't associate those with big tits. But is that enough to save this from 6/10 mediocrity when it was starting higher than that? No, no it isn't. Like I said, very disappointing.

Well, Konomi was able to send that difficult problem while no one was able to do it, especially that Anne. Predictable but good for her.
And thanks to the hard work of Konomi, Nono, and Jun, Hanamiya was able to win the team competition.

I've enjoyed this more than I thought I would and I wouldn't a similar anime to this.

This episode was amazing, got my heart pumping really hard at the last moments. they used a bunch of great callbacks to latter episodes which in my opinion worked pretty well. They emphasized and even endured the musical motifs used throughout the series. And, overall the series was really fun to watch. Hope they put up an ova or something like that.

I had a blast Konomi's journey, sad to see it go.

This episode seemed longer than usual even though it was 23 minutes.

Lot's of people in the crowd going crazy over Anne xD.

When you realize your not fighting alone, you feel you can do anything cause you have people who you cherish and love backing you up, Konomi felt that, she didn't climb only for herself but for her team!!

Final score 5.2/10 > 5/10

No unfortunately the manga was only 4 chapters and ended already. But I have to say that huge cut at the end was a horrible way to end it. I’ve never seen a show cut the vocals at the end from each character and rush the standings

Oh my goat, what a super flashy final episode. Like a lightning. They even didn't hesitate to showed their thunder weather at that time, like these episode pacing. Damn, its fine! they surpassed everything at one episode only. And like the episode title, without not much a surprises, Konomin beat that Kurusu out into her own medicine! Nonoka proved to be the best girl for me. Even with her short shape of body, she was still did her best at the final moment. Its became a huge differences, for beating that Kurusu school out of the tournament. Nice end, and better to be like that! For Jun, yeah, she finally reached her own composure. The speed climb of her was surprisingly relaxing the team. As a result, she sealed the last needed points to beat Kurusu school out of the tournament. You did a great job, girls!

Phew! So, thats it. Even though, once again, the speeding pace is not my liking, these one prove to be decent enough as an enjoyable show. The girls had their own charming, and hot as hell. If only this one have a better pacing direction, and not compressed everything in one episodes only, it will be better. Well, i might expect something quite high. So, as a low grade, this show is a decent one, ngl. Even using a non quite popular branch of sport like climbing is a good choice, to increased the scores from me.
Score for me at every aspects:
Story: 7
Art and animation: 7
Sounds: 6
Characters: 8
Enjoyment: 7
Overall scores: 7/10

totally agree. i thought it was a very good anime, and it could have perfectly ended at 12 episodes, but the way they did it just makes you want more.

Amazing seeing the progress of each of the characters (not as much for sayo cause she's already a badass) and how it paid off in the end

Have goosebumps now

Well, that sure was a rushed as well as underwhelming finale. The whole Combined Cup was pretty much condensed into one single episode and as a result, Hanamiya's victory ended up feeling rather shallow and not rewarding in the slightest.

Honestly, it's not like I was expecting something remarkable here but still, pretty disappointing series overall. It started being rather average, it got better with the episodes focused on the first big tournament but ended up going downhill after the abrupt way in how said tournament concluded. Pacing was terribly handled and characters such as Uchimura, Ooba and especially Kurusu can go die in a pit, honestly. Seriously, it's the first time in a while that a group of characters irritate me enough to the point of experiencing real stress when it was time to watch a new episode. Funnily enough, the last time I felt this way was with another spokon. That one being Hanebado! two years ago.

3/10 - And that "ryokan" episode that was hinted in the ED didn't even happen in the end. Man, I'm so salty right now.

Alright the 6th show of the Fall season that I have finished and Iwa Kakeru is borderline mediocre.

I never felt that I loved this show throughout its run but it's not a terrible sports anime. The thing that weighed this show down are four main factors: I. Below average animation, II. Uncomfortable pacing of the show, III. Almost all characters are bland as fuck, and the one I hate the most is IV. Too much Neko bullshit.

So the episode featured the final tournament. Anne being so annoying as F with the annoying Kurukurusu. Our Hanamiya girls did their best and Konomi achieving the lead climbing was really good. But that abrupt in the end is so painful to see. They just rushed and left us viewers like the show just fucking escaped.

Overall it's between 5 or 6 for me, too sad it didn't took itself serious and it was kinda missing some parts that it really needed.

I enjoyed the show but, it felt rushed especially this finale. I think it would have really benefited the show if there was one more episode. The ending felt so abrupt, there was no proper closure. But still, I enjoyed the show especially the last few episodes and I liked the Hanamiya girls. Kurusu Anne was a bitch but, she took her loss to Konomi pretty well so, I can respect that.

Overall I'll give the show a 7/10, well more like a 6.5 but rounded up. It had potential but, the weak production didn't help. Still pretty enjoyable though.

Overall, an average-at-best show and I'm kind of being generous just calling it that. It's kinda sad when a show so thoroughly focused on ass and thighs doesn't do it for me. 5/10 and not a decimal point higher.

For a sports anime this show showed a lot of potential and depth, idk why ppl here are expecting criteria from different genres to a sports genre, we should be happy there's no friendship power nor hanebado hardwork BS nor any superpower here, every character has versatility on their own, talented areas and weaknesses, this is probably the only sports anime with no ass pulls (no pun intended) and even if I just missed one, you can't deny it has the least

I guess I'm in the minority in that I actually liked this anime (but for a variety of reasons lol). I was initially drawn to it because even though I've seen girl sports anime before (Hanebado), this one dealt with rock climbing which was interesting. Also, just like someone else said in here, I'm not gonna lie but I quite enjoyed the "angles" and "athletic form" of these competitors lol. The competitive and growth aspects of each character was important and expected as well.

The ending definitely felt rushed though. (I mean, there's not even some kind of verbal exchange between Anne and Konomi?) I'm wondering if the manga goes further than what this anime has covered because then I can hope for a season 2. For now, I'd say Anne takes the cake for being cute but Sayo definitely gets the blood flowing no doubt!

I am dissapointed.

I was kinda of excited for this anime. Specially ecchi and fanservice wise.
Not only that, but also in a general context (not that I was expecting good plot/story whatsover). However, it managed to be pretty average in every other aspect as well. Average at best.

I had in mind the excitment I had while watching something unusual like Keijo! Well, in fact the Climbing was, per see, unusual, but everything else being average at best didn´t help at all.

If possible, I would give it a 4.5/10.

Well, globally a pleasant ride, mostly because of the main characters. Otherwise, the animation was average, explanations about climbing were really good (for newbies like me at least), story... not much to mention there.

The main problem with this show was the pacing : if we take the last competition (episodes 11-12) as an example, we could barely see some real conditions speed, bouldering or anything, with many contenders. And even with the main characters, some parts were simply absent or rushed in a single 20sec sequence. I wish we could have seen more climbing scenes.

I'd give it a 7/10, probably as an encouragement to do better here. I gave 1 point for the information learnt about this sport I barely had any knowledge before.
