Drunk Mafuyu is just adorable and let's not forget she got drunk from the smell XD. Another great ass panel, damn Tsutsui sensei's going all out with the Mafuyu butt service. Woah confession so early, are we gonna see some drama? Most likely but can't wait to see the sweet end where they are together. |

| That sure seems like a nice end of year trip. Kirisu getting excited about everything related to history was really adorable. Though I wonder why she didn't want to be in the photo with her students. The male teachers acting like their students was incredibly hilarious, talking about love and wanting to have pillow fights. And did Nariyuki just confessed?! I definitely did not expect it to happen so quickly. I can't wait to see what will Kirisu's response be. |

| I'm glad the timeline for this route is moving along. We are in chapter 4 and it is already the end-of-the-year trip - it was summer vacation last week. Mafuyu got to have another "high school experience" - sneaking into the boys' room after lights out. I wonder how many times she has overheard Kokubo-sensei brag about his wife? He seems pretty proud of her. Before the pillow fight suggestion, I wonder if Mafuyu was relieved that the line of questioning was over or because of Nariyuki's answer that he doesn't have any romantic stories to tell? She was pretty cute settling into his chest after he said that. Our boy confessed in chapter 4 and not 7 or 8? Thank goodness! She even gave him a chance to back out and he didn't! It actually reminded me of those confession scenes in Persona 5, "I should choose my words carefully." The story could go a lot of places from here, and I am looking forward to seeing where it goes! I hope it won't be too awkward, but they are both awkward characters so I think I would be a fool not except some level of silliness from them. I also think what MegamiRem said could come to pass - the chances for drama are high. At this point, I just want the world to get out of their way and let them date, gosh darn it! XD They have both made it clear that neither one of them has been in a romantic relationship before and I think if we don't drag our feet too much, we are in for some adorable moments as they try to navigate the ups and downs of dating. I'm looking forward to next week! |

In the story world it has been anywhere from 6-8 months since the route started so I don't I think a confession is out of place here, especially if you consider all the things that happened between them in the 50 or so chapters she was in before the routes started. Fun little easter egg (maybe), in chapter 133 Mafuyu is wearing the same outfit when Nariyuki says “I like midwinter” (which is the meaning of her first name) and it catches her off guard. We'll see if you are right about the "flipping the script" assessment. I think based on everything that happened before in the main story and in the route, she harbors feelings for him. We'll see if she is ready to admit it to herself by end of the the next chapter - my money is on no and we'll have to wait a bit longer. I hope it happens before chapter 8 though (unless this route is longer than the others, which I also doubt). Yep, excited Sensei is always an adorable sight to see. She never lets her guard down though unless she is alone with Nariyuki, otherwise she wouldn't have the "unapproachable ice flower" reputation. And I too wish the learn the pillow wielding skills that won Kokubu-sensei his wife, lol. I think the photo thing is the same-old, same-old with her - she missed her high school events because of figure skating and doesn't want to impose on her students experiences at all. She told Nariyuki to loosen up, but she needs to do the same - I think she buys into the Ice Queen persona a little too much and to her detriment. We'll see if this gets expanded upon as we go. That is an interesting observation about the white tracksuit vs the red tracksuit. I'm just guessing, but I assume they have different colors for different parts of the year? That's always a thing, that the schools have summer and winter uniforms. I think it speaks more to the passage of time - #180 was summer vacation and we now doing the end-of-year trip in #181. I say that, but the other two female teachers were wearing red ones, but when comparing the tracksuits in the adjacent chapters, there is a difference between them, so I think there are ones for the different seasons. Why some are red and some are white, I don't know. If I had to guess, it would have to do with teaching departments or just personal preference. It probably isn't worth it to think about it all that hard, lol. Anyway, #133 was also a winter chapter, so I think that's why she is wearing a white tracksuit in both chapters. But, it is interesting that both times he said he "likes Mafuyu" it has been in the winter. For the upcoming chapter, I hope the two lady teachers were around the corner or something and overheard the confession. She needs to talk to women that have some sort of dating experience - I think she only has three other options besides them: Akina, Naruiyuki's mom and Amada. I personally think their living arrangements are going to end up being a conspiracy put together by Akina and Amada - Akina saw the spark between them back during the ski trip of this timeline and asked Amada to push them closer together when the opportunity to do so came. They have always been on her side and want her to find her own happiness to escape an arranged marriage by her parents. We'll see, but that is my theory for today, at least... |

I did look back through the chapter list again, and I don't think she wears a tracksuit at school at all except for chapter 133. She wears her old one when she was a student at her apartment all the time, but #133 and this chapter were the only times she has worn them to school or school related events. Both times have involved a confession of some sort, so it probably isn't a coincidence. Actually, quickly re-reading that part of the chapter is interesting: she asked him at the time, "Did you really mean midwinter?" and in this chapter she told him not to make misleading comments. There are definite parallels between these two chapters in that they both gave Mafuyu a high school experience she missed as a student and they both ended with a confession. But, since the confession took place after lights out I think the chances are lower for a student to overhear it, unless we are right in front of the girls' room, in which case they all heard it! That was an important chapter. Getting high school experiences, Nariyuki thinking he sees Mafuyu as a teenager, and memories of Nariyuki’s dad are all in play for this route. Tsutsui really put some thought into tying things back to previous chapters. It seems that drawing parallels from previous chapters has been the play: chapters 84 & 179, 93 & 180, and then 133 & 181. There weren't any direct parallels for the beginning of the route, but I guess you could argue for elements of chapters 22 & 27 if you wanted to. And, of course, there have been other events from previous chapters sprinkled in as well, so at least to me, the whole thing has been cohesive. #133 was the last chapter that Mafuyu was featured in before the routes started so that one has always struck me as important in her timeline. Also, being the last one, there probably won't be any more direct parallels going forward; I mean, we are out of Mafuyu centric chapters at this point unless we go backwards. I still wonder how events played out in her world's version of the ski trip (#142-144) - that is still kind of nagging at me and may influence where the next chapters go. Or maybe not, I'm not the author. :P Nariyuki's dad has been used only slightly so far and the timeslip element hasn't been used at all - I think the teenage Mafuyu in #178 is a flashback and not a timeslip because of the size of Nariyuki's hand and what she says in that scene. One or both of these items may or may not be used going forward. We'll see, but I personally think they are both going to play at least some role as we finish up this story. Something big already happened and the halfway point of today's chapter would be the halfway point of the route, assuming it will be 9 chapters in all. I have a feeling another big event will begin by page 10 and I can't wait to read it in a few hours to see where it goes! |
