| Yay! I was waiting for something like this - a situation that forces Mafuyu and Nariyuki to begin to look at each other as potential romantic partners. I mean, if the previous routes are any indication, something more drastic had to happen this week since we are probably a third of the way through it. What happened in this chapter even plays into one of my predictions for the story! I do get partial credit after all! Scenario 1: Family Reconciliation The other routes haven’t explored opposition from the parents regarding romantic partners. I think with the parents being as strict as they are, they won’t easily accept a younger boyfriend that doesn’t have a guaranteed future ahead of him. Just in their few appearances they strike me as the rich type – they may even have even arranged a marriage behind Mafuyu’s back. The two of them deepening their bond and love over a conflict like this is something I could see happening, which would lead to her parents finally seeing their daughter for who she is and accepting her choices. Miharu and their Aunt Akina will play roles in helping to convince Mafuyu’s parents. Natsumi is the collective will of the audience when she grabbed his tie and pulled them together. Thank you! She also noticed that Mafuyu doesn't act like the "The Ice Queen" when she and Nariyuki are alone together. She knows they just need more time and based on what Akina said in the last panel, I think she caught a glimpse of something back during the graduation trip of this timeline. I have a feeling that event played out a lot like it does in chapter 144. I could talk about more stuff, but I think I'll stop here for now. I will say that reading this stuff does make me feel giddy. I'm looking forward to seeing where the story will go next week! (Also, going back a bit, Mafuyu is wearing the "classy, white one piece" so I guess we know which one Nariyuki recommended in the game last chapter, lol.) |

Lovin' the hell outta this arc so far. I can see where you are coming from with this criticism but I think the difference will end up being the contrast of feelings between the sets of parents. Asumi's parents both liked Nariyuki from the beginning but I don't think that Mafuyu's parents are going to be as accepting as Akina and Natsumi, initially anyway. How this potential conflict could be confronted in the next chapters is interesting to think about, but Tsutsui may ignore it all together and choose to develop their relationship without Mafuyu's parents being a big factor. We'll just have to see, but I think there is a strong chance the parents will be involved based on issues brought up in chapters 100-102. Regardless of whether or not my prediction is correct, I agree with you two - the last two chapters especially have had laugh out loud moments, and I love this pairing to pieces. @Monty3610 - I have personally found things to enjoy in all of the endings, but the strongest for me have been Fumino and Asumi. I like manga Asumi way more than anime Asumi and her ending was pretty darn good for me. I thought the first chapter in the Mafuyu ending was just okay (I guess it had to be a little more setup focused than I would have liked since she hadn't been the focus of a chapter since #133) but after the last two, I am all in and I can't wait to see where it goes from here! |

I also agree that the Asumi and Fumino arc were my favorite out of the 4 arcs that have been done so far. And although I really like Fumino's character, I ended up liking Asumi and her ending so much more. Her arc felt more natural than the others imo. Also, manga Asumi definitely beats anime Asumi. |

I did notice the classic one-piece though, and thought the same thing! Haha. Love little things like that. Mafuyu tried using the pluck technique again, too. I hadn’t though about how Mafuyu’s family might play into this route until this chapter. Her parents could be formidable if things go the way you’re thinking. Haha It really didn't register to me that the move she was trying to do after her soul returned was the "pluck his clothes and look up at him coquettishly" maneuver. To me, it seemed more like the casual grabs she pulled on him whenever she needed something (like in chapter 27). I guess the difference between these grabs is that the one in #27 had the "yoink" sound effect while the one in this chapter was marked as "cling" - I like the implications of that! Yeah, having the ski trip in the flashback image really does lead credence to my theory, doesn't it? Neat. Anyway, the main reason I thought that was because of what Akina said at the end of the chapter; that she wasn't planning on saying anything to Mafuyu's parents from the beginning. She must have seen something, somewhere! Based on what has happened so far, I feel like the relationship with her mother has improved after the events of #102, but obviously, they aren't being completely honest with each other. I also think there are some pretty strong words in #101 that haven't been resolved - Mafuyu stated that her parents "practically disowned me for choosing teaching." Her parents may think they are making amends by arranging a marriage and encouraging her to move home. I don't know for sure - they haven't had enough page time for me to accurately gauge them yet. Her dad has had like one line and I think her mom has like six and four of them were her questions in this chapter, lol. We'll just have to see if that is the angle Tsutsui goes with it as we approach the supposed halfway point, which would be halfway through chapter 182 if this is also nine chapters long. And, since I like predicting things, I feel like Miharu makes her return in either the next chapter or in #182. Next week they may end up on a date set up by Akina. I can see it now, "Thanks for watching Natsumi. Here are tickets for Event X. Go check it out together." #181 may be a cool down chapter that leads into the main conflict for them to overcome starting either at the end of #181 or by the middle of #182. We'll see, but that's just what I'm guessing. I won't mind if I'm wrong as long as its good, and it has been solid so far! Looking forward to Sunday! |
