After 13 years, The World Ends With You is finally getting an anime adaptation!

It will be known as The World Ends With You The Animation and will release in 2021.

I've also started an anticipation/hype thread for the new anime adaptation on the forums under its MAL page. Sorry if some of you have already shared your thoughts on it there before, but since this group exists, I thought it'd be appropriate to revive it with news of this :)

Nearly 1 year later, The Animation has finished airing. What are everyone's thoughts on it?

Pros
-artstyle is faithful
-a couple of the songs are in the anime and the original composer not the game one is back
-most of the voice cast is back
-the objectives remain the same
- the subtle references and callbacks to the original game

-shit animation especially the cgi
-no teenage city riot
-many days are crammed in just one or two episodes
-its darker than the original game mainly due to so many jokes being cut out aside from the blood and players being killed on screen
-the funimation sub just fucking butchers it like damn, ain't no way people are going to be using that kind of slang in the near future as it doesn't age well.
-The fact its going to be what neo twewy is going to be a sequel of the anime instead of the original game.
-The characters were so condensed af because of how rushed they are.

Honestly still one of the worst adaptations i've seen.

And now we have a blu ray as well too and honestly, i'll pass on that and well go for the other merch instead like the figs for example.
