I'm just wondering if anything about a season 3 for the anime has been announced or mentioned anywhere.
And for the people in the know regarding the Light Novels, how far ahead in the story are the light novels? is there enough material for S3?

I loved both seasons 1 & 2 so I hope S3 will come out soon.

The anime finished with volume 5 (actually, prologue of volume 6) of 23 currently released in Japanese; and there's enough web novel for many more volumes yet. You could say at this point in the anime the story has barely started.

@Unoriginality, 'the story continues' means 'the story continues' only; sales figures determine if there will be a third season. No official announcement yet. Let's cross fingers!

I really want to know the full story to this one, so I sure hope we'll get another season! If not, I have no choice but to pick up the novel.

You'll need WAY MORE than another season to get the full story of Bookworm. Not talking about the cut content from the books, but at the pace they're going, it would require the serie to get to around season 10-12 at least to finish the story...

Probably hadn't heard of it because both the fan and official translations are moving at a snail's pace and trying to get the story through MTL is quite painful XD.

The official translation is releasing around 5 volumes per year so that's some of the fastest pro translation out there. "snail's pace", not quite.

No, it just basically means there is more to the story than what has been shown so it tells you if u want to know the rest of the story go buy and read the books

At the end of the day this is still just a big commercial for the book series.

Indeed - Quof is moving incredibly fast, all things considered. Still, now that we've gotten about halfway though Part 2 of the story (there are a total of 5 parts), the thing to wonder is if they will continue it. LN sales in Japan for this series (it's actually completed there) were very good, however - now that it's over, the question is if the publisher cares enough. Also, with Covid right now, that may make it even more difficult to continue.

Part 2 Volume 4 comes out on 2020-06-23
Part 3 Volume 1 comes out on 2020-08-12
They aren't just going to drop the series.
The LN is not completed in Japan. The WN has been completed in Japan with 677 chapters since 2017-03-12, but the LN only just released Part 5 Volume 2 this month which only covers up to WN503.

To give an idea about initial LN sales from Oricon when the volumes first came out:
158 - 13,993 - Honzuki no Gekokujou Part 4 Volume 6 (2019年03月09日)
169 - 13,270 - Honzuki no Gekokujou Part 4 Volume 7 (2019年06月10日)
192 - 12,305 - Honzuki no Gekokujou Part 4 Volume 8 (2019年09月10日)
165 - 13,435 - Honzuki no Gekokujou Tanpenshuu 1 (2019年10月10日)
112 - 19,140 - Honzuki no Gekokujou Part 4 Volume 9 (2019年12月10日)
032 - 20,346 - Honzuki no Gekokujou Part 5 Volume 1 (2020年03月10日)
Source: 1, 2

We only have week one sales estimates for Part 5 Volume 2 (2020年06月10日) so far which is 19,027.
Source (it's weird but it doesn't appear in the LN rankings and that the Oreimo volume doesn't appear in the regular book rankings whereas the Kimetsu no Yaiba volumes appear in both)

Honestly after reading the LNs, I don't thibk there will be an s3 nor do I really want one. They skipped so much just to reach a good spot to end it is clear they have no intent to adapt more. And I don't mind, I am glad the anime existed so I could be introduced to the books but it's really inferior.

In theory - yes, more than enough. On the whole, they could easily produce another three to four seasons but the way the finale of this season was set up, I rather doubt that there will be another season. For one thing, the show is not so massively popular that it would make sense to have another season. This is not SnK but a cute slice of life with a bit of fantasy in between. I was even surprised that there was even a second season. Shows like these usually end after one season. Also, the books are doing rather well on their own. I think this was really it and if you want to know more I'd suggest starting to read the novels instead.

I'm not reading it in english, but for english, I suppose you can try J Novel Club or at least find a list of place where it's available from there.

Blu-ray sales no longer mean anything. Streaming revenue and sales of the source material do.
