| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- A bit over the top of comedy for my taste. The art direction is quite unique and has a certain charm to it. Alibaba looks like he is from an another anime, that's how different he looks. I wonder if his name holds any significance apart from being a foreigner. "And i can't read English at all?" did Chen shi really say English or was it a mistranslation? at 10:45. When he saw a cat i just wanted to scream out *NEKOOOOOOOO* I do wonder, what the cat is doing with the previous guards that come to check on him and why he is still sitting in the prison, being so strong and scary and being able to get out at any time. And what connection he has to Alibaba. No idea what's its gonna be about, and im not that sucker for big monster cats, but i'll still watch, it's my first chinese anime in 2 years >_< |

The phrase in question was 外国字, literally "outside country characters". Foreign scripts. Oh, well that makes more sense, i understand that it's a fan translation, seeing "WTF" in subtitles several times, still i appreciate his hard work in translating. |

Actually, the subs are neither a fan translation nor a translation by a western company that has the rights to distribute it. As I understand it, they're done by the studio. Contrast with something like Psychic Princess, where I think the subs are either done by the producer, Tencent, or the studio that worked on that one, Haoliners, both of which are a lot bigger than the studio doing White Cat Legend, which is why I think they're better. The studio is putting "WTF" in their subs? wow, i guess now i've seen everything, thanks for telling me though, that's some nice info. |

| Forgot how unique some donghua tend to loo. Love it. The animation too, it's so good looking. Humor's spot-on too! I think I'm gonna enjoy watching this one. |
