Hi there. I'm a person.
My scores are imported from Kitsu, where I use the most complex rating system, which goes from 1 to 10 in increments of .5 instead of 1. My scores are mostly consistent with MAL's descriptions of the scores, except that 5 can mean either average or slightly below average (on here. Not on Kitsu, where I use 5.5 as average since it's halfway between 1 and 10). When non-integer scores are imported from Kitsu, the score is rounded either up or down. In the tags, I indicate the direction those scores are rounded in and whether I'm fine with them being rounded in that direction. The only criterion I use to evaluate shows is enjoyment, which can come in many forms (interest, joy, catharsis, mirth, etc.), not all of which I necessarily value equally, but which I all find value in. I make no distinction between "quality" and enjoyment. I will not necessarily give shows that are "objectively" good or bad good or bad scores. Factors that may be taken into consideration when scoring a show include whether I found watching it a good use of time, how good it is compared to other entries on my list, how good it is compared to anime as a whole or in its genre, how good it is compared to audiovisual media as a whole or in its genre, and how good it is compared to narrative media or art as a whole or in its genre (as one might imagine, a fair amount of ballparking is involved).
My favorite genres are:
Fantasy (epic and/or dark);
Historical (prehistory, the Bronze Age, classical antiquity, the early Middle Ages, imperial China, and any setting reminiscent of those times and places);
Psychological thrillers;
and Yuri (preferably of the fluffy variety. Don't look at me like that).
