was there a reason? it isn't common for this to happen in fact id say its literally the first.

i know there was valarian and a thousand suns (Valérian and Laureline) other french anime, but it was only in french and it wasn't aired anywhere outside of france kinda like teen titans or batman brave and bold it had anime artstyle but wasn't really produced in japan,

radiant meanwhile has a huge presence in japan some how? and has japanese translations and dubs? why is that, im genuinely curious what caused this french manga to get adapted by a japanese studio

Hello, indeed, it's the first time a french manga is adapted by a japanese studio.

Apparently someone from nhk saw the manga in japanese shop and they were interested in making an anime. They contacted the french editor and the author, ofc they accepted xD
If I am not mistaking, Yusuke Murata and Hiro Mashima helped promoting Radiant in Japan.

I don't know if you read Radiant or not but by reading it, it really looks like any other shonen. I mean, you can see that it's french only by reading the name of the author, Tony Valente.

damn so it is really just a lucky coincidence?
a big shot saw this in a store and decided to make it an anime? pretty interesting.

i was thinking this could be a gate way for a few western series to get an anime or something

Gives me hope for the only french manga that I'm aware of, Dreamland. They would just have to cut down on some of the adult stuff and it would make a great shounen

I heard that they made the anime kid friendly , and it's different in the comic or manga ( or whatever the French term is)

In my opinion, this is not a manga but a French comics. And radiant is not the first comics to have an anime.

It won't happen since it isn't even edited in Japan, unlike Radiant. And unlike Radiant, you can definitely see the fact that DreamLand is french (young people getting drunk, having sex ...) so it will most definitely never be translated, even less adapted
