THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Well, it's the final episode and it was an exciting one with some humans dying and Leo almost dying as well. I'm glad we got a conclusive ending with Leo passing the torch to Rune to be the future king of the jungle.

I didn't like this series quite at much as the original, mainly because a lot of the side characters that a liked such as Pauley and Bucky got barely any screentime. Either way though both series are pretty good, especially for their time, and I'm gonna miss going on adventures with Kimba and the gang. Maybe one day I'll check out the 1989 series if it ever becomes more easily accessible.

Now that the series is done, I'd like to say that this series was better than the original in some areas, and WAY worse in others. The writing was actually better in this episode than the original, as well as some animation more or less, but other than that, it was mostly worse than the original. The voice acting for the dub was some of the worst voice acting I've ever heard in an anime. The characters were more annoying than the original, especially Rune, Ruki, the small elephant, the chameleon, the pink bird, etc. In fact, only Leo and his wife were the only ones that didn't get on my nerves at some point. Rune is an annoying son and doesn't hold a candle to his father, and his sister Ruki was barely even a character. Overall, it was worse than the original, but not by much. Both shows honestly don't really seem all that impressive. I don't think either one did anything remotely well, and by today's standards they're pretty mediocre. I'm glad it's over.

the english dub is atrocious not knowing about the integrity of the anime's run. I wish I could watch it in original japanese with a proper subtitles
