| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well geez, they didn't waste much time getting to the disturbing elements from the start. And to top it off, they got weapons, blood spilled, and chaos in the opening minutes. Shuka's character debut is kinda underwhelming though imo. Meanwhile, main male protagonist Kaname Sudou got himself involved into a deadly game. Honestly, the first episode felt weird, too much character anxiety and emphasis on making the episode look thrilling. I guess it works for the show if that's what they're aiming for though. Just a lot of things happening at once. This is a crazy show though. |

| Well, MC introduction feels somewhat abrupt and for some reason it seems like a combination between Mirai Nikki and Mahou Shoujo Site. Don't be another Ousama Game pls. |

| well, this was as trashy as i expected it to be. might be a fun watch depending on how creative their abilities will be used and explored, so i'll keep watching it shit's edgy and funny, reminds me of gantz a bit also, 50 minute episode ftw  |

| Was expecting that the MC would fight alone but it would seem that he's getting companions by the road, that makes it more interesting for me. The chain girl is cool and she's already fond of him judging by the last scene ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Could be some entertaining trash here. |

| The manga for Darwin's Game is pretty average (which is a lot better than being terrible like most shows similar to its style), so I wasn't going into this with a negative mindset. And from the premiere, it seems to be a mediocre but not terrible adaptation of it. The pacing was slightly off and the animation was stiff, but it was atleast watchable to a degree. I've seen a lot of 'edgy' shows and after seeing this and even reading it, Darwin's Game isn't THAT edgy for me to be honest. It has a decent amount but not enough for me to describe it as that, plus its not necessarily as forced as other shows. |

| Pretty intense start and a 50 min episode to boot. Already like Kaname and Shuka and a survival game is almost always great to watch. Really expecting a lot from this series. Also I hope Shuka turns out to be a great yandere. |

| I like how they jumped right into the story, not drag out the beginning for a few minutes to introduce characters and their relationships with each other. Animation wasn't the best. Also, facial expressions were a bit off. Didn't like the blonde girl either. Would've been a great episode otherwise. |

| Ah so this was the Five Nights at Freddy's animation we never asked For real though I find it funny how he even got into the game in the first place. Like his friend was literally screaming at him not to do it and he just casually is like "lol nop it's free" But oh well Mirai Nikki part 2 is either gonna end up being laughably bad (most likely choice) or surprisingly good. No point drawing conclusions from the 1st ep cause I know it can just as easily increase in quality as it can decrease |

| I don't want to jynx it but the adaptation was perfect. The animation and art were super high quality. The OST fit well and got me to want to get it. The voice acting was on par and they followed the manga flawlessly |

| Was a bit disappointed at first with how they adapted the fight against Banda, but I really liked the fight against Shuka, which I was looking forward to MUCH more (yay Shuka! :D ♥♥♥). Their voice actors are fitting and pleasing to my ears. Looking forward to next week. ^^ Can't share the sentiment about Mirai Nikki-vibes though. I found Mirai Nikki to be utter trash (no characters I really liked and the 'story' was just....), Darwin's Game on the other hand I've even reread the manga already and it's not even finished yet. ^^ |

| How does OP get these threads up so early for like 30 series every season?? Been waiting on this one for a while, looks like it's gonna be pretty good. One of the 16 I'm watching this season. Nexus is back at it again with the ridiculously small staff count. Just 6 key animators, 3 of which are freelance, and another 3 for 2nd key. Looks like this will be another solid production, especially considering how much decent movement there is. Double length too! Liking it already, and I haven't even finished the episode. |

| The episode was pretty fun NGL. It built up its tension from the very first scene and even though there have been many similar stories, I found myself quite enjoying it. It genuinely excited me when the MC was making an effort to survive. What ruined it for me was the last 2 mins of the show, when it turns into something of an ecchi based cliche unenjoyable romance edgy story. that last scene completely destroyed the tension and hype built up and single-handedly changed the story from something pretty good to something that is going to nothing but disappointing. |

| The plot is kinda generic. But, this is a good adaptation so far . If the studio keep it this way, I think this is gonna be a good show. |

| At first when I saw the title and the synopsis, I had terrible Ousama Game flashbacks, but I am surprised.. In a good way. It was a good start, even with a little basic explanation about Darwin's Game, this holds quite a bit of potential. Protagonist seems alright, soundtrack is nice. Yep I am here to stay! Oh yeah, I am digging this Shuka girl, she's sexy af! Might be the only reason I would still watch this even if it turns really bad like previously mentioned Anime. Edit: Just something I noticed, I hope there won't be any bad censoring in the following episodes. That black bar after that head was cut off kinda bothered me. Oh and perhaps there was a part of me that wanted to see a bit more of that gorgeous blond XD |
