| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- It's been a long time and my memories foggy but the volume is here! I refreshed a little, although I’ll definitely be forgetful, and what a chapter to start back up on. To start simple I like how the non-literature club characters have something more associated with them as their “favorite” rather than books. Izumi being trains and Amagi apparently being food. That and I find the Hongou volume cover so cute, and the water color back is super beautiful. We started with a showing going well and Hongou being praised by her rival Tomita-sensei. But while it was happening, Yamagishi called her “the one” and even understanding the lack of meaning in a phrase like that, it being a literal way to address her in response to a question, it was enough to get to her. Like that’s what she wanted to hear from Yamagishi so bad. It was a melancholic moment. From there Sonezaki left, still feeling down about Amagi, and ran into gyaru-chan. I seem to forget her name. Regardless, she got the time with Sonezaki she wanted and what was once a clash between the crass and the prudish, a complete binary, has smoothed out. In fact, gyaru-chan took great pleasure in telling Sonezaki exactly what she needed to hear, to have confidence in the boy she likes, to show him off! So, hopefully that will inspire her like Kazusa has been. Comically as Kazusa and Sonezaki want to become bolder and get closer to their romantic interests, Momoko finally exploded and told Sugimoto off. He and his friends came in with nearly the exact same pose as last time making it fun to flip back and forth, and as they played more with the idea of Momoko being his girlfriend, especially when he’s not the most respected in her eyes, and her girl Hongou was right there, it lit the fuse. As much as I feel a little bad for him, YOU GO MOMOKO!!! You got to set your boundaries and you did!!!! And here is where everything was set up. Izumi, Saegusa, and Amagi all enter the room at once for one perfectly coincidental set piece. Kazusa showed nervousness as she prepared for what she had to do, Sugawara showed anger over Saegusa showing up, and Sonezaki showed some hesitancy. And whereas Sugawara ended up confessing to Izumi, Kazusa was the one with him on her mind, she was powering through to confess her love whether it hurt or not. Sugawara was thinking about Saegusa the entire time. Yet while insulting him for taking interest in the unpredictability of little girls or even her now, she played into his hand. She definitely feels conflicted, I think she may have feelings for Izumi but she’s also haunted by Saegusa. She’s toppling with having friends and having feelings. She’s a bit of a mess. But upon Izumi pulling her away and recently thinking about Kazusa as a girl, I think this will turn out okay, as chaotic as it is. Still, for Sugawara to do that knowing of Kazusa’s feeling and rehearsal must hurt. |
