She literally ranks first in so many waifu contests. So I am really glad (and kind of surprised) that Emilia surpassed her this time, even though she got such less screentime in season 1. Furthermore, Asuna still is ranked higher than Rem which shows that Asuna fans outnumber Rem fans (which are quite many). As for Kirito, SAO fanbase is just as big as One Piece, Naruto, etc so it's natural for Kirito to win. |

Anyway, I knew I would get a reply like this. So here let me explain to you in simple words. Re:Zero was a very popular anime. The only thing Rem got after arc 1 was the capability to take up more screentime. Any girl from a popular anime would become famous if she got this much screentime. Emilia barely had any screen time in comparison. But now Emilia got more screentime in the new OVA and this newtype ranking 2018 now shows the new result with Emilia ranked first. Apart from this, Emilia also won many other events. You want more proof? It is a huge amount of time when you are.... 6 years old. Btw, the Newtype anime rankings do not keep the same characters in the tops for long time (and long time for kids is 6 months).
