| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- After shooting Kurata they went soft on the kids, even lying about the walls and the towers saying it's for their sake. Then the director was acting all friendly and told them they could have anything they wanted as a way to lure them into being “greedy pigs”. A trick of sorts to confirm they were bad kids and rub it in their faces… The term education has been used numerous times, and I was wondering something. Gai may have been falsely charged but what about the rest? Are there real murderous kids here? I was also wondering if this would be slavery or something but so far they say its a brutal form of rehabilitation with no humane treatments. So, this was mostly an exposition chapter but it was told in a charming way. Bad adults and kids that don’t seem too bad so far. These old guys deserve some re-education themselves to casually treat people this poorly. It makes me think of the question we must ask in ethics, when is something okay and when is it not? The government can use the death penalty but if an individual kills even for vigilante justice it is a crime. If these kids treated people like this human institution is then that’d be a reason to be sent here. I also have to wonder about the legitimacy of this place. Gai thinks the Hirata family who framed him got him sent here on purpose to keep him locked away. Is this really a nasty part of the government? And if so, are all these kids orphans or what kind of lies are they telling the parents? They’d be looking all over. I do hope some of these adults end up being homies so far they don’t interest me. I wonder about those guys outside the room, my first instinct with how they were prostrating silently was that it was a punishment. |
