In fairness this is true to history; the historical Nobukatsu was hostile to his brother and did scheme to overthrow Nobunaga. The whole manipulation thing is anime dramatic licence.

Other historical facts:

- Historical rumour was that Dota Gozen hated Nobunaga, instead doting on Nobukatsu instead.

- Sengoku Japan had an open country policy where foreigners could freely move about; some feudal lords grew rich and powerful trading with them. So when the Tokugawa shogunate finally unified Japan under its rule, their concern over these lords going over the shogunate's heads was one reason for going isolationist (sakoku) until the Meiji era some 2 centuries later. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sakoku

- Ikoma Kitsuno was previously married to another lord, Dota Yaheji, who was killed in a battle.

- History says that Oda Nobutsugu killed Hidetaka; the anime has chosen to play around with this a bit.

The whole "I'll let you know when the fireflies emerge" was the biggest death flag for Hidetaka.

Nobuyuki is an idiot.

The family politics of Nobunaga are getting more toxic, with Nobukatsu getting the aim from no more than their own mom, who keeps reinforcing the separation, plus another.

As more retainers and lords are killed, the rift is unstoppable.

It's absurdly funny that the fireflies is Hidetaka's death bed. To make things worse, Nobukatsu still is mind-paralyzed about his own side of things, much less Nobunaga. True to history, just played in dramatic function.

OWWWW! My fucking heart hurts! Hidetaka was too pure for the Sengoku Period and it's poisonous players. I want Tsuzuki to die a humiliating death for what he's done to the Oda brothers and for killing poor little Hidetaka!

Gosh, the next episode is just gonna be even more devastating!

Hidetaka didn't deserve to die. He was a healing character. I hate Tsuzuki. Sad that Nobuyuki is easily manipulated. I would have liked for Nobunaga to show up. Looking forward to the next episode!

Wow! This episode was full of feelings. From joy to frustration, from frustration to sadness, and from sadness to revenge. Damn Suzuki! He is a complete manipulative and gay bastard, I hope he dies in the worst way. Hidetaka was just an innocent and cheerful young man, and that bastard sent him to murder to begin his stupid plan against Nobunaga. He doesn't deserve forgiveness! I really hate it. Poor Nobukatsu, is being controlled like a puppet, the seed of discord has already been planted in it. It will be hard for Nobunaga to have to fight his own brother.
This will be very exciting, but also sad and dramatic.

R.I.P Hidetaka.

Poor Hidetaka. He didn't deserve that.

What's that guy's deal? Why is he so manipulative? And why does he hate Nobunaga so much?

Nobuyuki's evil gay lover has tricked him into hating his older brother.

What lies ahead may not be pretty.
