Surge and gets a Thunder Badge. So the information on the MAL page showing 48 minutes is incorrect as this special is 1 hour and 24 minutes, 14 minutes being filled with ads so still 1 hour and 10 minutes. | @PrOxAnto I just rewatched both this episode and the first episode right next to the first episode of TV-ban VHS release and they are 99% identical. Only things that were differently animated were the parts where they changed the lightning flash effects to be less intensive in the VHS release and there was two or three occasions where they just made some stuff in four boxes like in the OP for example but it was still the same length as the original. The thing is for the MEGA link is that it has an episode in the rip that aired right after Aki no Special, which is episode 28. Minus all the commercials and exclude the bangumi things then it is 99% the same as the VHS release as the first part of the TV-ban clip show series. Edit: @PrOxAnto - I see, you're right about that. Thanks for looking into this matter again :) But, I'm still confused on why it's more than an hour when the recap itself in the raw rip should be the same as it was. Edit 2: It's counting the episode 28 time too |

They exclusively sold a 3 tape VHS version of the Masara Town recaps (which was edited with the changes I listed below) and they showed a special (Aki no Special) that went over the events of the first 24 episodes. (Including episode 28 afterwards) If we have to dismiss footage from one release because of another even if they're similar we'd have to remove a lot of entries on MAL as a whole. (No matter the amount of differences) *Edit - Checked the differences myself aswell, 01- The into song has a bit where they show 4 pokemon at once and change them in the Masara town recap and the Aki no Special scrolls through all the pokemon one by one. 02 - Title card present in Masara Town, Aki no Special has none. 03 - A lot of lighting effects which you mentioned which were not present in Masara Town recaps. 04 - There's a difference in how he catches Caterpie, the way it's animated and it's timing. 05 - Animation of Mew at approx 12 minutes is changed quite a bit in the Masara Town recap. 06 - Animation differences when Misty kicks Caterpie around the 20min mark. 07 - A lot of animation differences when Pickachu fights Cubone around 23 / 24 minute mark. 08 - Introduction of Ghastly / Gengar and Haunter. 09 - Masara Town combines the scenes with Pickachu electrocuting everyone into one frame whereas Aki no Special flips through them. 10 - Scene with Pickachu electrocting Team Rocket and their heli had different timing and animation. 11 - Aki no Special has another intro frame where they continue into the Tower of Terror arc. 12 - An outro which Aki no Special didn't have, which makes sense ofc. |

| So does the MEGA link have both Aki no Special and Masara Town-hen Recaps? If not, what does it have? Edit: I don't know why I couldn't just click the link and see for myself. Masara recaps seem to be on nyaa though |
