So after 10 episodes it seems this anime, at least with a part that can be called as "Eris Arc", came to an end.

The adaptation itself was bad, everything felt rushed and inconsistent, art seemed to get worse with ast episodes, even though it should've been improving, animation had many flaws (I kick myself for calling it as "beautiful" in one post here, even if it was said in comparison to the animation from previous episodes, lol)... We can find many things proving Saintia Sho being a weak adaptation and wasted potential if we think about how cool its manga is, but that's not the main point of this topic.

What do you think about Saintia Shou's future as anime adaptation? We were left with happy ending, but a moment after it we saw a scene featuring Ares scheming plans to rule the world.

If there will be continuation, then I guess it won't go along with story as seen in the manga. Instead of it, the anime might choose its own way and focus more strictly on a conflict between Athena and Ares.

By the way, does somebody knows what was the reception of Saintia Shou in Japan?

I'm not sure what to think...

On one hand it is really bad adaptation (and I didn't even read manga, except for checking few pages), but on the other I'm just happy we got more Seiya anime.

It was dissapointing that other Saintias didn't get more screentime, and overall, it was so damn rushed.

The best part for me were some shots of Gold Saints, and their returning voice actors - some of them were around since original anime.

I wouldn't mind continuation, since it is better than nothing, although, if I can be honest, I'm not sure how much will I like Sagares.

I mean, his design looks cool, and I love Saga, but how many times have they exploited him, and revived till now?

I read a tweet on someone's account who was involved with Saintia Shou, posted while the anime was still airing. I can't quite recall the exact words but it basically said that the manga wasn't very popular and that they had a low budget. I'll try to find it.

Edit: it was a tweet from the artist of the manga https://twitter.com/cmk_k but it's been deleted.

You know, I remember being enthusiastic when they announced the anime version of Saintia Shou. Now I'm not sure if I care that the series is on hiatus. I don't even know if I want it to continue. It's one of the ugliest and the most half-assed in general animated adaptations I've ever seen, which is a shame, because the manga is easily the most beautiful work in the Seiyaverse - and an okay read, too. It's a bit sad that most people will watch the anime rather than read the manga...

If the figures and Blu-Rays don't sell well enough, then it might not continue and meet the same fate as those 2-3 episode OVAs you'd see in the 90's. I'm currently seeing this as the magical girl/Saint Seiya equivalent of Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, considering the cheap looking, and at times, terrible animation and missing ending (then again the manga isn't finished yet either), it was very disappointing, especially with how Elda was handled, she's not a good Saintia there as her lack of screentime and underutilization ruined her character. It's a very sad shame as the manga actually fits very well into the Saint Seiya manga universe and doesn't screw with the canon, and that's saying something after pieces of shit like Crimes of Grindelwald. I feel really bad for Kouri and Kurumada considering his story of/her contributions to Saint Seiya were destroyed, the Saints/Saintias degraded, and the universe cheapened.

From what I'm glimpsing of the manga online, there's lots of other characters and some backstories (like with Xiaoling) in there that sadly may never get adapted at all.

And I even noticed during Xiaoling's attack, for some frames, they forgot to draw her left foot, you ran outta ink too, didn't you, ya bastards?? -____-

Tbh,Ares probably just appeared in the end as a way to promote the Myth Cloth Ex Ares figure.

Apparently the anime adaptation of Saintia Sho was well received in Japan because on the covers of chapter 63 and 64 of the manga(that were released during the anime's run),it was stated that the anime was being broadcasted with big reception.
