Do you think J.C.Staff will have better animation than Deen? J.C.Staff seems to be overloaded with tons of different shows this season and last season. Also, that cover doesn't look that good.

The animation from Deen was actually quite fine in my book, the art was just really bad. In some scenes it fits the goofy comedy, but often it just looked bad. The two pictures we have so far look pretty fine to me, also I think that the amount of work for this season shouldn't tell a lot about the quality of the movie. After all such movies are in the works for much longer.

They certainly look different, both from the Deen adaption and from the LN. But overall I like it better. Comparable with Oregairu first and second season imo.

http://i.imgur.com/93g3sId.jpg Deens animation is either average or bad. Konosuba was one of their better adaptations.

None of the above, judge them by their staff.

I for one really like Deens' work on Konosuba,
they handled animation really well here, and the art style -that some people seem to hate- really works for this property as well.

Hate to see them go. Though the original director and some of the script writers are still on board, this shouldn't be too much of a change.

Though it's kinda sad how animation studios are so easily replaceable.

Yes, this is sad. Nobody else seems to talk about this.

It's not really the studio that matters (although it is a factor) its the staff behind it. That's why some studio's can make really amazing shows, but also make some shitty ones too

Eh... do you think that I consider an animation studios some kind of sentient being or something? Of course a studio is made of staffs. And since obviously there's no news about Deens' staffs jumping ship, they won't be working on the new Konosuba now, will they?

FYI, what decides if a studio would bring out their A game is the schedule; if they were working on more than one anime at a time, the manpower would have to be distributed, and sometimes not evenly, because you can't really measure talent. And sometimes a studio would just take more work than they can handle, or that they would be given an unreasonable deadline, or both could happen in the same time. Those are usually the occasions when you'd see a drop of quality.

No it isn't, unless you don't consider the members of the animation studios, AKA the people who actually draw and animate the whole thing, part of your so called "stuff"

It's "staff", not "stuff", one means employees one means objects.

Their highest rank bakuman season 3 is 58 in ratings, and their most popular show is rank 14 with toradora.

Deen’s animation was perfect (especially for season 2). The main animator even said it, the characters are supposed to look wonky because it amplifies the comedy.

You know that Aqua rage scene in season 2 episode 6, when she gets angry at Kazuma, makes those ridiculous poses, and then does her signature “Game Paused” freeze? Every single frame was different. This is also the animation philosophy of Ren and Stimpy’s creator, which I assume Konosuba’s animators followed.

And while is JC is known for being as mediocre as you can get, presumably, their A-team and a lot of their budget went into this movie (which is why One Punch Man season 2 looked so bad), and judging from the trailers, it looks fine.

J.C. Staff at their best is far better than Deen at their best. Deen was even a meme for many years (likely before many CR-only anime fans were even born).

You sir have no idea what you're saying.
Deen at their best had very, very good quality anime. Especially those 90's OVA's.
Whereas J.C. Staff's "best" these days is near laughable.

How many Animes J.C. Staff has in the top50 here in MAL? None, Deen has two, of which the other is 2nd best ranked OVA of all time.

"Deen is a Bad studio with Garbage quality" or whatever is an old, bad and completely through used joke.

Intelligent gets through situations which wise avoids.

i dont think jc staff messed up, seems the movie was really good for some people, its a mixed bad right now tho mostly positive. And unless you hate the animation all the other staff that worked on the movie were from season one and two.

It was the same sh*t. Different studio, same staff, bigger/movie budget plus good movie schedule. My worries are in the possibility of this getting a season 3 and staying in J.C Staff's hands. It might turn out good if the staff remains the same.
