The cultural festival is here!

I like the energy of this episode. Mostly, we have Photography Club showing their attractions. Really glad to see the group together enjoying what they do. Heh, they got their cute little club outfits together too.

A pretty gleeful episode imo...and beautiful fireworks :D

Another so-so episode, which would be fine in a standard romance school show. This show was suppose to be more than that though....rant time...

This show has honestly been my biggest disappointment this season.
What started as series that dealt with a deeply depressed girl traveling back in time, to find the colours she's lost. Has become a generic romance series, where the core of her depression felt rushed and kinda lame. The magic part that seemed interesting in the first episode, ie. time travel bus, has seemed so weak.
This could have been a so much more and for me has failed.
Also on a side note, going back in time, falling in love and then going back to the future, most likely to find out your love is as a now a 70 year old man....or dead....probably wont fix that depression issue.

This episode was beautiful. It was energetic, heartwarming and fun, with subtle touch of melancholy in the backround. Exactly that what I wanted from this show.

But I'm sooooo not ready for next episode....

"As for things I have left undone, there's only one. The firewok called love that will never disappear".

Damn I'll cry my eyes out in next episode. I'm sure of it.
And that ending theme song "Mimei no Kimi to Hakumei no Mahouby" is my most favourite song of this year.

Why?Why do you want to make me so conflicted
I have loved and hated this show
I have liked and disliked this show
I can't make up my damn mind
This episode had the school festival part which i found decent and the ending which was a very emotional and hard moment, especially for Hitomi
On one hand we continue to have Amazing visuals and visual storytelling, on the other we simply forgot that Hitomi sometimes disappears and that Sho/Asagi stuff sometimes is unbearable

Why do i have to be this undecided?GRRRR

Another Good episode today, even with the melancholic feeling,
Hitomi showing so much development in character and personality wise. Being more open with her emotions.
Aoi learning the real meaning and joy of art and drawings, due to his connection with Hitomi

Good Aoi and Hitomi moments too, holding hands, Aoi telling her how glad he is that she is a mage, after raging at mages in the earlier episodes, it meant so much to hitomi. Really an emotional moment.

Their little set up date by Asagi was really sweet. Still couldn't enjoy it because of the uncertain future events.
Speaking of Asagi , her character development was good too this episode. She's slowly being more bold and decisive. good to see that finally.
Everyone trying everything possible to cherish hitomi's moments at the festival before her departure, really pleasant to watch.

Hitomi with her one wish left, the reason she came here, her firework of love.Just dont let them separate.
Hope kohaku can work her magic and whip up something.
Final episode coming soon, please dont let us get by hit the feel train, just give us a satisfying ending.

Also when she asks wonder what my color is. I was like "Its Aoi" (Aoi means Blue in Japanese)

I not gonna be able to handle a goodbye. Hitomi needs to stay :( I appreciate the development and how she's learnt about friendship, magic and love, but I'm not gonna be satisfied at all if she just goes back to the future. Please, Kohaku, don't disappoint me. I'm hanging onto what you said in the first episode about the spell being permanent. PLEASE P.A works, don't give me the 'learnt the lesson and now I can go on with my life' bullshit ending. One of the main reasons I started watching this was for the romance, and I need a happy ending for it.

Please.

I thought magical fireworks won't be any better than real fireworks, but I was seriously underestimating this anime. It was breathtakingly beautiful. They really know how to use colours in this anime.

If Hitomi returns next episode, and the grandpa version of Yuito is still in love with her, that would probably be kind of creepy.

Based on everything that has been revealed, I don't think Hitomi and Yuito can get a happy ending. Though, this anime also doesn't look like something that would have a sad ending. Really wanna see how they're going to end it all next episode.

I wonder what Yuito was drawing at night.

Hitomi will probably see colours next episode, but I wonder if that was what she was referring to when she said that there were so many colours in this world.

Hitomi is with Yuito, solving her feelings and thinking about her future. They all work in the cultural festival, day 1, and take some photos at the end of the day. Hitomi had a dinner with Kohaku’s family, saying thanks to all them for taking care of her (the sand clock that Kohaku needed finally is here). The day 2 of the cultural festival starts and the guy let Yuito and Hitomi spend some time together, where Yuito took Hitomi’s hand. In the closure event, Kohaku and Hitomi made magic fireworks for the public, where Hitomi could be able to see colors for a moment. It’s the day that Hitomi needs to go back to her time so they all are with her while Kohaku is preparing the spell.

As every episode, animation, details, backgrounds and characters are in another level of animation. Really like the script here, Hitomi is finally realizing that she’s really in love with Yuito, the episodes focused in that relationship and unfortunately, how it will be broken next episode (I think). We can see too, how Hitomi’s ability to see colors is related to happiness, as said by Kohaku before, it could be a spell that Hitomi did to herself and for what we watched, happiness is a key to undo it. How Yuito could be feeling, as an introvert guy that loves her too; and who he is in the future.

The latest episode and now this episode. The endgame in this series is so well done.

I'm completely behind the romance of Hitomi and Yuito, it has a really huge slow burn with both of them being introverted. Both are coming out of their shells thanks to each other (him through her magic and her through his drawinds). Both feel immediate comfort IMO.

It just all exploded in episode 11 and here now it is so visible that they are head over heels for each other. This is gonna be so painful actually, i'm not ready.

Also the fireworks were amazing and Hitomi got full happiness, she could even see colors again for a moment.

Very positivity-driven episode, i really liked it.

What a nice cultural festival, and it was great that Hitomi was able to see the fireworks in color. Although it seems like she doesn't see people the same way. The stroll she took with Yuito was a bit disappointing but I'm thinking they're saving the confessions for the last episode. I guess that's when she'll sort out her feelings for real this time around.

I wonder will they do a full closure of feelings to only them and forget the others? I would've really loved to see how others romances will pen out.

Damn, this was another heartrending episode!

It’s a shock that Hitomi hasn’t ‘disappeared’ this episode but I’m happy she didn’t. Yuito x Hitomi moments were very heartwarming and somewhat depressing to see this episode, that final monologue from Hitomi was really saddening but about time she finally realised. I hope this doesn’t cause Kohaku and co extra trouble, though. On another note, the festival was a pleasure to see and it’s great to hear that the festival went exceedingly well for all of the members. Asagi was being really considerate of Hitomi this episode and it’s nice to see that!

Hitomi managed to see colours again by the way. I wonder if it has anything to do with her mood/feeling, happiness for instance showing colours and monotonic durring other times. Sounds a bit cheesy to say the least but it makes valid sense imo.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the finale has in store for us!
I don’t want it to end on a sad note but I think the way things are progressing, it’d be more appropriate if it goes through that route. Whatever the case, here’s to hoping the finale episode delivers and makes full use of the buildup in this and the last episode in particular to give us a worthwhile and very satisfying ending!

This episode had a lingering feeling of poignancy since (I believe that) there is nothing that can be done to keep Hitomi in this present time, but it also had warmth all around, when even though she hadn't completely sorted her feelings out yet, she still decided to spend her remaining time with her friends, and the boy she likes.

I liked that bit right in the beginning too, Hitomi was about to blame magic again, and probably hate herself for being able to use it, for this inevitable farewell; but Yuito didn't let her do it, he opened her eyes and told her that it was only because of magic that they could meet. Hitomi may be gone for sixty years, we may see the main cast in their old age meeting her again, or maybe this isn't going to happen, but I do believe that she changed their lives for the better, just as they gave her this foreign sense of happiness.

I'm feeling really conflicted by this show. It does such a great job at making me struggle to decide what ending I would prefer and see if it does happen at all.

The way this episode played out felt really happy, but it also had that melancholy feel to it with the imminent time where Kohaku will have to use her magic to send Hitomi back to where she belongs.

The whole festival was really fun and the fireworks at the end, where Hitomi teared up after being able to see the colours of the fireworks itself, was a powerful, moving scene.

"The firework called love, that'll never disappear." It's that sentence from Hitomi's monologue at the end that made me feel really conflicted about how I think the last episode will play out. All I can hope for now is that the last episode will be memorable, in a good way, that is. ^ _^

Hmm... Though that age gap between Yuto and Hitomi guys... We're speaking with an age gap of 60 years!!! Yeah, nowadays are age differences at couples of 30-40 years not weird, but 60!!! She is 17 and he 78 year (in Hitomi's era) old, he could be her grandfather (if this theory at a lot people here right is, and guessing...). Hitomi should in that think.

The series is very nice, beautiful and all - it shouldn't be critique of me, but this fact-conflict buming me...

It's obvious that next episode Hitomi will confess in front of everyone else. Before Yuito can reply, Kohaku will also reveal that she too has had feelings for him from the beginning, but because deep inside she's actually shy (all that forwardness of hers is really a screen) she did not speak her love but let concealment like a worm i' the bud feed on her damask cheek. A magic battle of epic proportions ensues. Hitomi wins. Kohaku says that she is glad that the apprentice has surpassed the master, and dies when she is about to explain why she sent Hitomi back in time. A temporal paradox is created (since now Hitomi cannot be born), and the whole situation is reset to the beginning of chapter one.
Finally, an off-stage voice explains that Hitomi's inability to see colors was due to a budget cut, which they somehow worked into the plot.

Hitomi found the answer. And the answer is happiness. Yes, why old kohaku sent her back to 60 years ago, is to helped her found happiness, the thing that lost from her and made her lost the color.

So, you have the answer. It's time to go home. Oh no, my best girl must go home. At least... Yuito, where's your ball dude ? Come on, she is about to go, and you still can't confess it, you chicken ?

I have to agree. I saw two anime-list YouTube videos listing this show, so I caught up. Both videos showed the magic bus. One said that the show "does a really good job of showing how magic would work in society." No. In a world with MAGIC, it is reduced to ... a parlor trick, after all. Not a word about how else it could be used in society.

And they don't DO anything. The group has nothing to accomplish, except for something thrown in for an episode, which turns out to be just gazing at something. I am usually the most forgiving guy for any anime, while others complain, but here they had an interesting concept but did nothing with it.

I come to think of Beatless in the spring, which seemed like a great concept with great powers, but incredibly turned out to be about almost nothing, with no antagonist to fight for most of the season despite the setting. Just "cute robot girls in front of your eyes". So similar to this.

To be clear, I'm not looking for an action anime. Just for them to have SOMETHING to accomplish, like save the club or raise money for something. Anything. Not just "look at this shy girl, Japanese guy, and imagine how easy the relationship would be for you if she was your girlfriend."

Oh well, YouTube lists. At least you were right about Darling in the Franxx back then (incredibly, I dropped that one for a while and thought Beatless would be better). And you were right about Reincarnated as a Slime and Bunnygirl Senpai this season. So no hard feelings.
