I was looking for this ONA, since the TV anime feels like it's assuming some knowledge on the viewer's part. Saw this reddit thread with the videos and translations, in case somebody is interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/Kemurikusa/comments/ajxcxu/do_i_need_to_watch_something_before_the_anime/ |

Oh this has some changes as compared to the 2019 version. Wakaba is more toned down in terms of his curiosity which is more likable, and I prefer this voice of his somewhat more as well. Rin cried and smiled once already. Ritsu has a temper when it comes to midori. Rina is somewhat darker while stile retaining most of her character. Overall, this had more gore but I prefer the surreal direction of the other, as that one is much more polished. Not to say this is bad though. Manages to show the potential of series with the small budget it seemed to have. |

It has some interesting concepts that would actually been kinda cool if they had retained them in the actual series. Like the Nushi talking, gave it a bit more of creepy feel. The thing with Rin smoking the Kemurikusa or Ritsu being able to teleport people through the roots was also pretty cool. Also the personalities changed quite a bit. Rin here being quite a bit more standoffish and Ritsu having a dark/angry side to her. Especially for Ritsu it would have been nice to have had that in the series. As for Rina I prefer her in the series more than in this promo. Here she was kinda self-deprecating, not really valuing her life - probably as a result of her being able to multiply. But all in all the characters here felt more mature than in the series which would have actually worked better with the backstory of the series regarding the First Person. |
