About me:
I'm a pretty relaxed person, 30-something years old, working in IT. Probably wouldn't know I'm into anime if you met me.
I've grown up with the German anime TV programs of the 90s and early 00s (RTL, late night VOX, MTV/VIVA). So things like Dragon Ball, Kickers, Sailor Moon and Mila Superstar were among the first anime titles I had any contact with. But it wasn't before watching the original Ghost in the Shell movie that I perceived anime as something different from cartoons.
My most recent bout of actually being into anime started in university somwhere around 2009 when a fellow student suggested watching some stuff. And well, I kept at it and here we are...
I usually don't watch seasonal anime and tend to wait until titles are finished or even until the BD releases are out. Because usually I only focus on one or maybe two titles at a time.
I am bit strange in regards to selecting what titles to watch next. It's usually rather spontaneous like having a craving for a certain genre, style or type of story or finding something that catches my eye. And I'd like to mix things up - new/old, light and fluffy/serious, actiony/slice-of life. Keeping things fresh. Probably why I'm still into anime after all those years without it growing stale. But that's also why I on the one hand have seen some quite obscure titles and on the other am still missing some of the more high profile stuff. Which doesn't mean I won't ever watch it - I am not really that selective. If it's mildly interesting I keep it on my radar. So it's more of a...
"The question isn't if I watch something but when I come around to watching it."
Never dropping any title, because there is always the chance of a positive surprise!

Am I trippin
Yeah you're right. I brought this up first because I sometimes struggle with it. When I watch that had all the potential to be good but ends up being bad, I start posting negative comments. It is based from emotion but it also seems unfair as I don't want to ruin it if people are actually enjoying it.
And for the rest, yeah many people post just to get a response. Some people are really overly critical, they seem to forget this is anime it's meant to be enjoyed. Some critics (well, reviewers) are too harsh even with the stuff they actually like and rate it low.
I might do it too, knowingly or unknowingly.
There are lots of bad stuff and bad adaptations out there and I don't want to take away the free will of people to criticize that, but on the other hand I really get the dissatisfaction if you find a show you like and other people who like it and there's a shitposter who keeps commenting the anime.
Anyway, your new reply is a little bit too much for me. Sadly I'm not very adept in german language. I had to use Google translate and even then I'm not sure if I understood everything correctly.
I know shitposters posting hate comments in anime you like is frustrating, in my comment in the forum thread I tried to describe one type of person and why they might post negative comments but besides that there's trolls, pure haters and any other type of personalities.
My reason for posting it for some part is that i try to analyze myself (even if i often fail) and call out my own bullshit.
Sometimes I love a show and some haters are posting in every episode thread, and I tell them to stop watching if they don't like it.
Other times I watch a show that i kind of like but I'm really annoyed and frustrated by how badly it is handled or how badly it plays out so I complain on the forums, and the replies that I tend to hate the most are the ones that brush me off or tell me to not watch it if I don't like it. I don't know why I keep watching but I only do it for shows that I care about on some level.
But still for shows I like my gut response to haters is "why are you even here? if you don't like it don't watch it" so I am hypocritical. I'm trying to work it all out in my head and my reply in that forum thread was a part of it.
Sorry for rambling and sorry if I missed any of your points.
