Well, this is my theory. Here's my evidence:
At episode 1, as well as episode 13, she is seen lying around, saying 'I'm hungry', with the camera immideatly focusing on a dish of food that's located nearby. If she wanted to eat, it was no trobule at all to do so... Yet she did not.
What's common about those scenes is that the first happens before she gets into the Gatchaman life, and the latter happens after the situation calmes down to normallicy.
The Mess are no longer a threat, Berge is MIA, and she has nothing to do. When before she focused on being a hero, she is now left alone with her thoughts... And it doesn't take her to a good place.

The reason I thought of it is because her not eating when the food is right there reminded me of Sayuri from DDLC (spoilers btw, don't read further if you don't want them).

Sayuri is always hungry because when by herself, she can't bring herself to eat. Which IS rather similiar to Hajime not eating when the food is nearby. Only when Sayuri is around others, she can at least try to pretend to be normal, because she isn't stewing in her thoughts then.

So, what do you think?

That is a great point!
It is related to that Hajime is similar to Berg-Katze.
They are like children that need to have fun all the time, othervise they get depressed.

Didn't think about the food when saw Hajime lying around, but that's a nice catch.

nah shes the embodiment of the "Übermensch" shes less of a character more like a "force of nature" if you use literary terms, shes used not as a catalyst for the audience but some kind of force that rejects all conventions or ideals pushed against her making her own at every stage

She is a thinker, she is bored when there is no enigma to think about.
When she joined Gatchaman she changed herself, by making leaps of faith, as in trust in what one believe to be true against one's common sense.
