Because this movie is simply 3/10 garbage and this movie is so bad it should be played on prison tv's over and over and over again as punishment.So ya yall must not appreciate art if you wanna watch art go watch A silent voice or Akira that practecly defines art as far as Anime films go!

ngl.. i just bawled watching the music video. that cg train was amazing.. and i totally agree. If i was in prison with this movie on repeat, then maybe dropping the soap wont be so bad :)

For some reason, people that watch anime are the most bitter of critics. This movie is a gem. It conveys art and I'm sorry you guys couldn't understand the message of the story. Try watching 5 seconds per centimeter, you'll learn that real life doesn't have straight endings.

This movie is a masterpiece, if u understand and think about the whole movie for a while after watching it. At first me too though what a Garbage but then after discovering the real meaning behind the story, I was amazed. There was one more page in manga, actually the last page which should be added in my opinion, that might help most of the viewers to understand the end. I suggest you to check the manga's last page. U will get your answer why this movie is great, because in the end of the movie the movie writer leave a open space for us to think. So please research about it before giving a worst conclusion about it bqz some people get demotivate after reading you guys comments. I am happy that i didn't check this comments before watching the movie. That's all i can say. Thank you.

and this movie has nothning to be proud of(except of the animetion and the music)

They basically tried to use fireworks to tell a story. However, they basically used too much fireworks. The story became super convoluted and it was good until it made no sense. You either need to think long and hard (probably a good 3 to 4 days of thinking) or just give it a bad score for giving a good plot but having too much theory that is unanswered at the end of the movie.
That is why it doesn't get the hype. It has good animations, good music and a good story. Just that they decided to sprinkle too much thinking that most weebs didn't want to think about it.

It's not about not understanding the message of the story. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and personally I hate this movie. The art was beautiful and I liked the concept of it, but the execution was pretty bad. The characters weren't written well in my opinion and a lot of the character interactions were dull or had unnecessary conflict. I understand the message the movie shows with the different timelines, choices to make, and the different paths and stuff, but for me and many other people it just doesn't hit the mark.
