----------------------------------------
The episode title totally tricked me, I thought that Georgie was going to find out that she's adopted at last, but it was such a great episode that I'm not even mad!

First, she was really excited with the ball, but it didn't take long for their mother to rain on her parade. She said that she didn't have any clothes for it, that she was only going to be laughed at, and that even her was going to be made fun of, and this was her main reason, because it's not like she cares about Georgie. And of course Abel agreed with her, being jealous of Lowell, and pretending to be nice, what a jerk. So the poor girl gave up on going, but Kevin didn't know it so he gave her a dress, and a bonnet from his deceased wife, and they were beautiful! Well, she has to work on the cleavage, but that's it. lol

And just when she was dreaming about meeting, and dacing with Lowell, he appears out of nowhere, because Georgie is now the only one reflecting on his eyes, and he couldn't stay away from her. Then the scene from the OP happens, and it was wonderful, I loved it! He tells her that Elise is just his childhood friend, that their family decided on their engagement out of their own selfish reasons, and that he can only see her as a little sister. He also tells her that she's just like a painting he saw once long ago when he was just a little boy. I'm willing to bet that it was a painting of Georgie's mother, after all it was on it that he saw the bracelet, and well, this means they aren't related after all!

But Abel saw their second kiss, and flew home in a rage. I'm grateful he wasn't obnoxious enough to disturb them, but to think that the first thing he would do was to drink like a fish, pitiful. He tells Arthur that he's going to tell Georgie the truth because he doesn't want to lose her to another man, as selfish as always, and when Arthur fails at manipulating him again, he tries to stop him by force so the two of them start to fight, and that's when their mother arrives. Abel then tells her that he's going to marry Georgie, out of nowhere, taking for granted that she's just going to throw herself in his arms, god, how insufferable.

And then their mother finally reveals the secret mentioned in the title to try to prevent this from happening, that Georgie is the daughter of an exile. And then everything became clear: it wasn't just the bracelet that reminded her constantly that Georgie wasn't her daughter, or the fact that the brothers would fight for her, but also because she was the daughter of a convict. All of the times she talked of or with her in a contemptible way was out of a sense of superiority, I hate this woman. She thinks her two sons, the Don Juan, and the manipulator are too good for the daughter of a criminal! As if she chose her parents!

Those three are always so selfish, and arbitrary, they only think about themselves, and they are always keeping secrets from Georgie, or deciding stuff for her, or making things difficult for the poor girl, I can't stand it. Of course it's a compelling drama, and I'm totally captivated by it, but I just hope Georgie will realize lots of things when she finally finds out the truth, and that she won't forgive them, at least not easily, they don't deserve it.

Georgie looks wonderful in that dress! I wish that I had a dress and bonnet like that.

Abel's rage has become worse, and now they know another secret about Georgie that they didn't know before, but that won't change their feelings for her. It's a shame that their mother resents Georgie so much, especially considering the fact that she raised her since she was a baby.
