Wakaokami wa Shougakusei! Episode 16 Discussion
| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Overall, it was really nice how everything played out between Naruka, the young actress, her mother and Okko... I like how Naruka managed to exploit the notion of getting Harunoya some press, by crying during her apology to her adoring fans, for running away, and expressing just how much Okko’s friendship really meant to her — even if her complete honesty there was called into question. Like Uribou though, I think she WAS being truthful, and the tears were just there for added effect. Even knowing this is more of a ‘kid’s show’, as anime series go, I think it would’ve been nice to have delved a little bit deeper into the backdrop of a parent who essentially forced her own failed dreams and expectations onto her child. And even more so, how badly put upon Naruka would’ve been, as a result. But, it is what it is, and I still managed to enjoy their happy resolution. |

| Eww...Naruka's mom forced her to become an actress... Another problem resolved quickly, but that's fine given the short air time. Hehehe, nice move by Naruka advertising Harunoya like that. She's going to be a good actress. I hope we get to see her along with all the characters Okko met throughout the series near the end... |
