Nanatsu-iro REALiZE easily takes that place for me. Non-CGI Idol Dancing is just night and day. |

RayGlanZ is nice as well. Is the fluidity/accuracy of CGI dancing why you prefer it? I just usually feel so more engaged with key-animation. A lot of the CGI is getting very close to the point where I'd consider it equal, if not better in many cases, but I still feel a disconnect there. |

XD I really love the CG animation of Tsukiuta/Tsukipro and Idolish7, and that Readyyy! video you showed as well (is that a game?). There is something about them, like not only the smooth and realistic (maybe mocap?) animation but the art and rendering quality that is uncanny but in a good way. Like it's so life-like that 2D animation couldn't match it unless they spent an extreme budget on it (like for high budget movies for cinemas), they can use so many dynamic angles and movements that would either look choppy or be very expensive in 2D, and often 2D also has varying quality of their faces among other things. Like compare the DIAMOND FUSION MV with the DAYBREAK INTERLUDE MV... that is what I mean. On the other hand, yeah like the Leopard Eyes MV, had more primitive or low budget CG modeling/animation, where they not only look strange or lower quality than the 2D anime, but also have almost no facial expression beyond blinking and mouth movement, or no cloth/hair physics. Then it looks more like a fan-made MMD video lol... The Leopard Eyes MV is like on my level of 3D modeling, where I could make 3D models look like that, but I cannot make 3D models that look as good as in DIAMOND FUSION (yet). I have no college degree, either, purely learned 3D by hobby and so I was pretty disappointed with the Leopard Eyes MV (and some of the older Idolish7 CG MVs). I think as long as they stick to those animation studios who excel in 3D CG, and as more use them or can match up to them, we'll only see improved 3D animation quality. Kamikaze Douga (animation studio for newer Idolish7 MVs) and Dandelion (animation studio for the Readyyy! MV). |
