If you haven't do yourself a favor and read the manga

So as you can see this adaptation has 2 HUGE problems, and from what I have been reading online most people have the same issues with this adaptation.

Problem #1
Pacing

This is the big one for most users, I really can not understand why they would adapt the manga in only 23 episodes...

And it's not only the terrible pacing, because it is not just the fact that they speed up stuff incredibly fast, but other problem is they randomly throw BIG spoilers of things yet to come...

I assume is for people that had already read the manga, but I have read it and I didn't like the random spoilers, imagine how newcomers must have felt when they saw the beginning of episode 2 which shows a certain fight that won't happen until much, much later in the story...

Also the way they change from Taikoubou's side of the story to Ko Hiko's side of the story is done very, very bad, they should have watched Game of Thrones to see proper transitions..


Problem #2
It lacks Hoshin Engi's soul

Ryu Fujisaki LOVES to throw random over the top, 4th wall breaking scenes, like the panels I showed where he put life bars on top of the characters, resembling Street Fighter...

Simply put Hoshin Engi is the most 4th wall breaking thing I have ever read, Deadpool is tame in comparisson to Hoshin Engi's 4th wall breaking, trust me.

While reading Hoshin Engi it had A TON of weird wtf moments, if you read it I know you WANT to get to this part (Please if you haven't watched Hoshin Engi DO NOT check this link, do yourself a favor and wait for it to -hopefully- be animated or read the manga)

So in a nutshell this is a souless adaptation whose pacing is a mess, do yourself a favor, read the manga and you will understand why this is one of Weekly Shonen Jump's biggest sellers ever, it's relatively 'short' at 23 volumes (it was made in the mid 90s, back when Weekly Shonen Jump hits weren't 50 volumes long) and it's enjoyable from start to finish.

Really looking forward to this series, but now I'm sure that I'm going to be very VERY disappointed overall.
And yes, I would also recommend people to READ the manga better then watching the anime itself if u want the FULL STORY till the end.
