| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I'm very certain that NisiOisiN's main motivation behind writing this volume, or this series was to explain what it feels like to be a prolific (or varied) author. Anyways, the most interesting part of this chapter is the characterization we get for Yaku, even if it's one that I kinda already touched upon. Yaku is a very static character; it is revealed in this chapter that he doesn't ever move on his own, and always needs someone to push him to act, or even to react. He is trapped in his own time. The irony of this is that he is attracted to Kyouko, who is involuntarily stuck in her own time. If I had to make any predictions as to how this volume will end in the next chapter, I would think that whatever transpires will give Yakusuke a goal to work to, and that will probably give both characters a way to move on from both their troubles. Yaku might try to start a romance with Kyouko, and then the story further evolves into a "50 First Dates" situation, or something. That said, NisiOisiN isn't very partial to romance stories, so it's quite possible that everything will stay the same, at least on the outset. But seriously Kyouko? Did you have to try bingeing 100 books in a row? Does anyone else think its odd that the manuscript was handwritten instead of typed up? I don't think Sanaga committed suicide. Dat cliffhanger tho -_- Can't wait for the next chapter! |
