THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

So they are introducing the female characters now besides just the girl that Satou saved before.

I'm not a fan of the character designs so far. Zena's face just looks so meh in this adaptation. In the meantime, we got some more info on their world. Arisa also spotted.

Tama and Pochi are introduced too. Satou defending them is exactly something I'd expect from him. Still very underwhelming show. I can't get invested into the storytelling at moment unless this improves.

Well so far it was better then last week and it's starting to look a bit more like the manga tho i still think the manga as way better.
The characters look a bit funny as well be that isn't a bad thing.
For now it's ok a guess.

At least it's not as bad as Isekai smartphone was. I don't mind the MMO aspect of it, with text and stuff, either. The fact that neither the LN nor the anime have the romance/harem tag is a small but good sign, for this to be more than the seasonal "harem with op mc" anime.

This is it, this is the episode that make all those edgy kids fell in love with MC, and they will start to praise the ever living shit out of him , how OP and deeply analytical he is ...

And Jesus Christ, of fucking course there must be a DAEMON LORD! This was second episode but i know already that this will get only worse.

The pacing was really horrid once again. We spent 5 minutes looking at MC eating different meals and 5 minutes of MC walking around whilst looking at the menu. In the other minutes they introduced half the harem without having any character progression at all. Overall just way too slow so it becomes boring.

They finished literally 3 chapters of the manga in 40 minutes this should not be allowed

Holy fuck those tits on Martha! XD I mean uhhhh.....another fairly leisurely paced episode. Setting up more of the world such as the slavery system and briefly seeing several of our leads, plus learning about dragons and whatnot. Still enjoyable for me, but then I'm a fan of the source manga. I am waiting for a certain event to go down though and see if it picks up from there.

I'm still really digging the whole skills and skill points thing, but that's really the only thing keeping it from being in the depths of generic. Still an enjoyable show tho

I find it very interesting that the anime portrays Sato(u/o) as a "eyes closed" character.

Also I am very glad that they don't skip the food scenes. It shows that it's a faithful adaption. Also the Japanese seem to be REALLY into that, at least among the novel-reading community, as I think more than half of the syousetsu novels have entire chapters describing food or cooking. It might not be very popular in the west though, but I have to give kudos to the producers of the anime to "dare" make the second episode an entire slice-of-life episode WITHOUT even any cliffhanger, but rather a "date flag".

Fortunately they finally decided to translate the messages, though I wish the first episode would be revised as well...

Anyway, you see what this series is about now? Sightseeing and food. If you absolutely hate these two things, you should drop the series now.

In the scene when he was making up his story about being a merchant etc. and convincing the soldiers, i immediately thought of those Skyrim "Speech 100" memes xD
Also, i kinda like the idea of Super-OP character that for once doesn't have any grandiose goal like saving the world or returning to his original reality, but just wants to travel and have fun in the new world he found himself in.

Got some good world-building in this episode. Satou is getting acquainted to the world. It was nice of him to defend the two demi-humans. The new characters introduced are okay.

Is the series planning on having 1000 episodes or something? Why is the pace of the show so slow?
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the episode, but essentially all that happened was he went into town bought a mask and had dinner... Hopefully it picks up quickly!

This anime bleeds cliches. I'm liking the skills and the slice of life aspects, but otherwise it's pretty bland. I don't really like the MC's teenage voice. His voice is way too effeminate and it's kind of annoying.

The animation quality also isn't that great, but that isn't bothering. I actually really like the fantasy feeling of the OST.

God, I expected something bad, but not this bad. The story is so cliched and predictable it makes me fall asleep, the characters might as well not exist, visuals are poor and voice acting is monotonous. Probably dropping this one.

What happened is world building.
This anime is adaption of LN. I read WN and I see no problems with slownes, but yes this show will be quite slow or should I say long. WN has already over 580 chapters and end of the story is still far away. I expect this season will end with WN chapter 5-11 which is only about 70 chapters of WN.
At the end of next episode will start some action.

Watching this series brings back memories of In Another World with my Smartphone, the major difference between them is that this series takes a more composed and relaxed manner in displaying the intricacies of its setting. Satoo seems to be coming to terms with the fact that he died and got resurrected in a completely different world and, hopefully, he will have some meaningful character development out of this. Also, I'm interested to see how the harem aspect will play out.

People are just going into this with bias and not looking at it for what it is. This isn't your wish fulfillment action anime, it is a slice of life, with an adult MC, who doesn't have some grand goal, and just wants to enjoy life and take things at his own pace after working himself practically to death on a consistent basis. Is it slow? Definitely. Still enjoyable and unique enough though :)

This episode adapts Chapters 2,3 and the beginning of 4.

Overall, they really are pretty much copying the manga with slight differences. Most anime only watchers are going to say "oh its like smartphone, its trash, bla bla" but truthfully Death March does a great job balancing the SOL and action aspects in the series. They showed some of the girls which was great, although I expected the catgirls voice to be more tomboyish. Anyways, It looks like they're only going to adapt to the 2nd boss arc, which i guess is expected with this slow pace. If the action is well adapted this series might get a 7.5 avg rating, but atm its a borderline 7 going under.

I will give one more episode. For now, it's just Isekai Smartphone meets Isekai Shokudou. The MC's voice is annoying.

It's amazing how characters look so bland. It's like someone sucked the life out of them.

Pretty great episode. No real action taking place, but i like watching MC being introduced to a new city and new society and learning as he goes. Also saw brief appearances of 4 or 5 characters that are seen in the ED, so i guess we'll see more on them next episode. And i lol'd a little bit when MC was checking out the city map showing the street with the tailors, while Martha's tits were in the background. MC you need to be careful where your eyes are pointing when you're accessing your UI.

The gamification of the world is still pretty nice.

I hope Martha is recurring character, I really like her but I don't see her on the poster. :(

Pretty slow paced episode with some exposition, not sure if this is a good or bad thing cause I felt the commentary for the food wasn't really needed in a show like this but let's see how this thing turns out.

...13-years old?

Anyway, this was a certainly different episode than the first. I know some people are complaining about the cliches but remember he is in a game world, so its no wonder that things such as Demon Lords and Demi-humans exist, and he even points that out himself. It's self-aware in a way.
And yes, I agree that the adult (at least in mentality) MC is refreshing. He's confident, and doesn't seem at all naiive or embarrassed by things and he does. Great!

But... 13 years old?
