 An official website has opened and announced that the Layton series multimedia franchise will receive a TV anime. Titled Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katri no Nazotoki File, the anime is slated for Spring 2018.Cast Katrielle Layton: Kana Hanazawa (the Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru series) Staff Creative Director, Original Plan, Series Composition: Akihiro Hino (the Inazuma Eleven series) Director: Susumu Mitsunaka (the Haikyuu!! series) Original Character Design: Tetsuzou Nagano (Layton Kyouju to Eien no Utahime) Character Design: Yoko Takada (Air key animation) Studio: LIDENFILMS Professor Layton is originally a game series developed by Level 5. The series received an anime movie featuring Hershel Layton that was premiered in December 2009, and a manga adaptation via CoroCoro Comic magazine between November 2008 and June 2012. A new manga adaptation featuring Katrielle Layton will begin its serialization via Ciao magazine in Spring 2018. Toy merchandise company Takara Tomy plans to release goods for the series as well. | Looks promising! Wow, I always wait for this kind of news, hoping Kana Hanazawa would have a character role for a certain anime. But now, my wish came true. I'm really so happy! Professor Layton is a great game so it might be also a great mystery anime. |

I mean sure, LIDENFILMS kinda suck but they did a couple of good stuff personally (Arslan Senki and Udon no Kuni) and the staff behind so far is pretty solid (specially the director). But its 50 episodes tho, so its still a little bit worrying, dunno how the studio will do for 50 episodes. |
