And that also explains why there's still no update on his fucked up manga chapter count. (still not fixed)

not gonna happen, because of the authors illness it was already confirmed that he/she is working with the anime staff on the last few episodes which coincided with the manga/ overtaken the manga. in conclusion the manga author is probably writing the draft for the anime. and yesterday it was confirmed that the author is once again taking a 2 month break which seems indicate that the author has a much more serious illness.

ps. in the scenario of akame ga kill they had enough manga material to adapt into the anime, but because of the poor sales they decided against it and did take an anime original route, where the anime deviated from the manga in the last 5-6 episodes.
