| Did anyone see the Ending's change? the screaming goldfish plants scene, episodes 1 and 2 had Goddess Izanami no Mikoto, and 3rd episode have Zashiki Warashi instead. |

| I already ROFL'd at that "Old man calling Old man bla bla bla". :'v Then comes the second part to know about Hoouki's Zashiki Warashi. They may be sadist, BUT since everyone likes them and talk to them alot. PLUS their cute big eyes and voice is so damn cute. >_< |

| That Totoro reference. A whole segement on the Zashiki Warashi was a nice surprise. KaedeKyl9 said: I knew they weren't there before. | As I'd feared, the change of the studio had negative consequences. 3 episodes in, and this season is not nearly as good as the first one or even the first 3 ovas. Damn, because this was the anime I had anticipated the most this fall... |

Damn, because this was the anime I had anticipated the most this fall... The humor has certainly been toned down a bit, but I'm not sure if this is because of the change in staff (which is only the director, character designer and animation studio), or because the manga itself is simply not as humorous at this point. Still, I'm enjoying this show for what it is. The humor seems to be more in the details now than just in your face, which is how I think it was last season. As for this episode, I still don't know whether to find the Zashiki Warashi cute or seriously creepy. They look cute enough when they talk, but those eyes that do not blink can stare into your soul, and it makes my skin crawl whenever we see them from up front. |

| Finally some Hakutaku, I missed him! But I have to agree, the second part with the Zashiki Warashi was great, they're so cute! Also really liked the Cat's Eye reference |

| The first part is fun, though the references are less direct than those made in the second part with the two Zashiki Warashi. I absolutely must see the OVA. | The backstory of Hakutaku's and Hozuki's feud was interesting, but it felt dragged out to me. Best part is definitely with the Zashiki Warashi. |

| Finally, Hakutaku! I agree that this season is a bit a letdown. Imo, comedy is the same, but the pace feels kinda slower. |

While the base is the same (the manga), the arrangement and approach is different: the first season was more creative with how it paced a chapter's material and it often took small creative liberties to improve pacing of a segment by adding a bit or rearranging and combining. This season is faithful to the manga in pretty much every detail, which highlights the problem, innate only to the animated version, of info dumps and screwed up pacing because nothing is done to smooth it out.But this is the same as the manga. Even if this was the old studio, thing will still be the same anyway. I still found this entertaining. |
