In episode discussions, people often say they don't understand what Centaur's Worries is meant to be. It's not a warm and cutesy CGDCT anime, it's not a funny comedy, it's not a grimdark dystopia.
But discussing this topic doesn't seem to fit episode discussions well. So I'm making this topic.

In my opinion, the answer is simple. Centaur's Worries is meant to be a showcase of a different world, which is like our world, but sufficiently different that we could take a fresh look. It shows us its everyday life through its everyday protagonists, but for more extraordinary happenings it uses more extraordinary characters. Still, it goes out of its way to keep the world connected.

Any other opinions, objections or anything?

Why would people expect comedy or grimdark? It's not in the tags.

Many slice-of-life shows are some kind of comedy.
Grimdark is mostly related to draconian equality laws of Japan and Holocaust sequence. If things like this were made the focus of the story, it could be dark indeed. But Centaur's Worries doesn't go that route. If anything, it tries to keep the balance, so that their world is much like our own, with some bad parts and some good parts.

I recommend you anime "Saishuuheiki Kanojo". There are few shows that can rival it on the "everything dying" front.
At least, if you've watched the Holocaust sequence of Centaur's Worries, and feel that was not enough.

Oh, somehow I forgot saikano existed. But yeah, will have to watch the holocaust sequence too.

The best descripsion I found on bato.to:

"The title could have been "My Cute Monster Girls Couldn't Be This Politically Correct!"
But seriously, who is the target audience? A seinen demographic who love reading about high school monster girl doing cute things, yet sophisticated enough to enjoy some kind of social commentary ranging from: race equality, democracy, US politics, militant organization, seed patenting controversy, concentration camp, and many more?
This is weirdly interesting."

I personally hate this sudden shift. On episode 9 and its absurd the shift. This has been a CGDCT show for the entire duration up until this point and suddenly its gotten into a WW2 drama. They shouldnt have done that! Theres a time and place to cover such topics and its definitely not in a slice of life anime!

This is basically just spitting over fans who came into this for the slice of life which it solely advertises as and gives 0 indication its anything else. Was absolutely loving it till this point.
