| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I was just starting to think this may be the weakest part, to be fair it may still be, but this conclusion is looking great. The entire volume 9 was great, it was emotionally devastating, and it breached new ground for me. Mitsuyama screaming at his friends he's sorry, to eventually asking Kazuya to get it over with. Chang and Mario screaming at Kazuya to save them, as Mitsuyama is on the ground, weak, cowardly, trying to justify what he's doing. I don't think Mitsuyama was justified in believing what he did, that Chang would kill him for the money, and I really wish Fukumoto would of foreshadowed his doubt in his friends a little more, but when he first got on the floor my heart sank. And to repeat what I've already said in past threads, I absolutely love Kaiji and Kazuya's relationship, they have a really enjoyable dynamic. We can see this both when Kaiji hugged him when he extended their time for the 2nd time, and when Kazuya blushed for real when Kaiji falsely complemented him. This volume really shows the beautiful way Kaiji creates some of the most disgusting, horrible set pieces I've seen/read. |
| Blushing Kazuya is just the greatest thing. Can't wait to see the conclusion to this arc! I am thoroughly hyped! ...and also a little afraid. |
| Seeing Kazuya blush at a critical moment like this really made me laugh. Then his face when he realized Kaiji "sucked up" to him, which was followed by a miniature of him going ":)" made me laugh again. I swear I could see his muscles twitch from anger/irritation. Fukumoto is really great at drawing emotions and conveying them! |
