Ah more secrets of the Buranki revealed.

The battle was okay, interesting to see Roeko fighting side by side with Azuma against Guy as a team. Just can't stand Guy and his ridiculous ideals. I also can't help but laugh a bit at Kaoruko for throwing a fit though at the end. LOL.

Oh no, it's the "sign". The "no time to make the animated OP, since it's time to get serious. So just play early episode together with the music's OP" sign.
And Kaoruko, thanks for the good jos stalling Guy until Oubu-Entei finally arrived.

This is such a poorly written anime. Honestly there are a bunch of characters and more than half of them aren't even necessary to the plot in the least.

Then established characters meanwhile suffer because only a handful of them don't even get proper development. As much as I like Kaoruko, she served zero purpose. The whole anime could have progressed without her just fine. Even in scenes where there could have been good sibling interaction, she becomes comic relief. And it's not funny, it's sad. You created a character that from my observations no one likes.

Then the finally scene. Everyone looks happy and hopeful like nope......... All those other characters basically teens didn't die, now there's hope for the future!

What??? Maybe it's really just me, but this anime while it had a plot it was just explored so, so poorly. I'm remembering the season 2 promo and the promotional poster and I feel really mislead. There was so much more that could have been done. If there is an episode 12 and there must be because it said to be continue, just what could possible happen? Beach filler or something equally mundane?

I honestly can't see this having a season 3 but you never know who's signing off on what. Sorry for the rant, I just feel severely disappointed in this show.

I... I did not understand a thing after Time traveling consciousness of Migiwa got introduced. While it is sweet, inability to fathom how grand was the plot is also irritating. At least there is that "to be continued"...

so Migiwa is mixed race of Buranki and Human thats why she is so powerful and that she still able retain her powers even if she already have children

Migiwa best girl fusing with Reoko in the past to help with the present battle and then later releasing Reoko of the immortality curse (that is the red glowing power)

lol at Guy wanting be god, he is so religious that thinks humanity is so special and nah scratch that he just thinks he is so special
im glad The Great One is not evil and choose to sleep rather than invade Earth which has a lot of other living beings

and i do not want a season 3 im satisfied with this being the finale, but i think there is still 1 more episode to properly wrap things up and show what happened after the battle

A pretty good final battle, with a last few things revealed, such as Migiwa being part Buranki. Also Guy has a god complex.

Not sure what will happen in next week's offering, if there is one.

So why on Earth is it a To Be Continued when this pretty much was played off like a finale? I am honestly shocked that it wrapped so quickly but to me this was basically it. So pretty much the stereotypical villain god complex went down...no surprise there but that Reoko and Azuma team up was just plain awesome and possibly the highlight of the whole series for me.
Don't believe the hype.

Yeah all of the new characters and side characters that came in had like no real place except to be background stuff that adds a different twist. I was kinda hoping for more origin stories or something but oh well. I honestly doubt this will get a season 3 since conflict wise there seems to be no point but who knows what the last episode will deliver.
Don't believe the hype.

the fight scene is so cool! Two Buranki fuse into 1. also the way Reoko fought with Azuma is just so cool. I liked the ending, also more Buranki secrets and also mysteries about Migiwa and is being revealed.

I wonder what the next episode will be like, since all the fighting is over and Guy is also gone, also reoko is no longer frozen with time now that Migiwa have lifted it.

Excited to see the next episode

basically it's time travel, like Oubu has mentioned it when he talk with Migiwa..
she 'died' when she want to destroy the treasure island, meet the talking Oubu, back to the past, saving Reoko by becoming Entei's brain that gives Reoko immortality..
that's what I got from this.. cmiiw

man, so next episode I believe it's an epilogue?
since Reoko immortality should be gone by now..
adult Azuma married with adult Reoko plz?

I thought this second half was pretty damn good despite some of the mediocre writing.

I thought that it was crazy how that whole Russian team was assassinated out of nowhere and they actually stayed dead, same thing with Letitia. I thought that Reoko and Azuma becoming allies instead of pointless enemies was good.

Learning everything about the Buranki's was interesting; how/why they got there, and how Bubuki's came to be.

Also liked all of the revelations with Matobai and what actually happened with him and Kogane's dad and why he tried to kill her Bubuki.

Finding out the whole truth about Migiwa was pretty interesting. The entire first cour she blamed her cursed body on Migiwa and hated her and was upset that her friend seemingly abandoned her. Turns out she like half died in the future, used her astral body to time travel and saved Reoko when she was dying by becoming Entei's brain. Then she ends up freeing Reoko and becoming part of the comet.

Things I wasn't too fond of:
Was kind of pissed that Epizo's real heart never activated...like, never. They kind of made it a big deal about finding the true purpose for him which would awaken the heart, and it never happened. With only one, seemingly epilogue episode left, I don't see why they would introduce it now. Unless another season is actually planned after this, which kind of seems unneeded.

Guy was a lame villain. He was smart, and he was brutal, but his ambitions are fucking dumb. Like really dumb. And then they kind of trolled us with his kids death. For a split second you're like "oh, his son got killed because of Bubuki, and now he's fueled by hated and revenge"....But NO. Then it was like "oh, he doesn't give a shit about the fact that his son died. He's pissed because he hated having a Bubuki, and then got stuck with it again when his sign died". He didn't give a rats ass about his son dying.

Was also kind of pissed about Kaoruko's uselessness as well as that of Reoko's crew. Kaoruko was absolutely useless, and contributed nothing every time she was on screen. Even the parts about her that were story relevant could've been easily replaced by anything else. Her powers didn't need to be the catalyst to create the mind control heart.
- Personally, what I was expecting, especially since they heavily emphasized black Oubu in the OP, was that at the final fight, Kaoruko would get ahold of a heart, and she would go black Oubu and have Reoko's group be the limbs.

Also...kind of odd that Migiwa is some half dead astral body who went back in time and then took the head back into orbit...and somehow her fucking kids had zero interaction with her. No goodbye, no talk, nothing. Do they even know it was her that sent the head back into space? Did they just accept it? He was adamant as shit about stopping his mom from destroying the island alone and then it was just brushed to the side.

Now I'm just wondering what's going to happen in the final episode. They kind of ended it the typical way you expect a show like this to conclude with this episode. Bad guy got defeated, first cour OP music got played at the end. Showed everybody kind of doing their own thing. But it said TBC and is listed for another episode.

Maybe if they have the fucking gonads they'll make the Reoko x Azuma ship sail.

I asked for more actions, got a compressed ep instead. Oh well still entertaining despite the bad writing instead of the usual pretentious boring talk shits writing in shows like Bungou Stray Dogs, which even lacks good action to make up for it, that pander to the masses. Though I was not entertained enough, gotta lower the score by 1.

Absolutely fantastic anime. Great story and characters. Beautiful cgi too. This definitely felt like an ending but the next episode will probably be an epilogue to see how the characters are and what they plan to do now that the world is saved and maybe some reminiscing about the events of the series and the role of buranki in the world
Grimgar season 2 please!!!!

This episode cleared away all the remaining plot threads and the pace of this series is so precise that they have time leftfor the epilogue. Season 3 exists only in your head.

Not sure what you mean as I'm pretty clear on the fact I don't want a season 3. And yes, there are quite a few animes' that keep getting seasons regardless of how 'bad' they are. Hence 'who's signing off' on them.

Precise pace? Cleared away plot threads? We'll have to agree to disagree. This series creates plot and then glosses it over with a magic wand when they're no longer relevant, they just find they don't are to explore or they simply run out of time. It also has far too many characters that seem to be there that get little to no character development.

This show could have been better if the characters actually had development and we were giving time not snippets to better understand their motivations. I feel there is a severe gap between what this show could have been and what it was.

But as I said we'll have to agree to disagree.

Great episode!
Entei-Oubu, might be the strongest Buranki because it is a combination 2 hearts of Reoko and Azuma!
Guy was squashed directly by Entei because Reoko doesn't want to let Azuma dirty is hands!
So Migiwa came to the past and became a god!?
I think Migiwa remove the curse of Reoko...
They used again Konomi Suzuki's OP on BBK S1!
5/5.

thats the beauty of fast pace stories like this since the character developments are concise/simple and straight to the point

i think you are expecting like this show should have at least 50 episodes to give more long character development

this show is plot-driven or action-driven show no doubt http://www.dorrancepublishing.com/character-driven-v-plot-driven-writing-whats-difference/

So yeah, plot and characters weren't great but I couldn't help but be fascinated by these visuals, I'm not a fan of CGI in general but this is some good stuff right here and I'd recommend anyone who wants to implement CGI into anime to take a good look at this show. Woa, Migiwa was Entei's brain. Did not see that one coming. (because they randomly just threw in time travel wtf?!)

Nice to see Reoko back. Azuma was like "oh it hurts" while Reoko didn't even flinch. (she was taking all of Entei's pain before so she's used to it)

Maybe it was just a bad translation, but a of Guy's dialogue was dumb.
This episode seemed like a "final" episode, but there's one more...

Fantastic art & good fights, tho Guy was inexperienced & only had raw power. Always like some gattai, esp with best ship Reoko & A-chan.
Random infodump we don't even need, too much too late. Buranki origins was useful. But the Migiwa gets time travel ability, save Reoko in past, merge with Entei, makes Reoko mortal by removing the bubuki heart... etc was hardly needed.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this show overall.

Completely agree. They did a great job of advancing this style and pushing the tech further. The art style was great for it and they had some great animation and effects tricks (very Trigger-style ones thanks to the art director probably, plus the very experienced character designer) to make it some of the most expressive anime CG so far.
Arpeggio of Blue Steel was a good jump for them, but this was a sizable jump again over their work on that even just two/three years ago.

Another recent cell-looking-CG work that I think showed some great advancements was the recent movie Expelled From Paradise, overall that movie looked great.

Migiwa was a buranki. Now she can time travel.

Azuma saved his future girl and then fused with her.

Holy shit at Reoko finishing Guy.

Migiwa told Reoko to take care of Azuma. She got the mom's blessing.

They played the 1st OP. Nice.

To be continued.
