Meh, this episode felt rather...strange and mostly a buildup.

However, I do think they did a good job at showing the characters at showcasing characters' ability to fight. Hope humanity is ready ...because this is their biggest challenge yet.

This show would of been 1000 times better if the story was done through that Kasumi's Mother point of view from the very beginning.

That's it, now all revealed. Even that "adult" Unknown just killing the kids senseless.
Time for the final battle. Next week it is

So, Gutoku was a human all this time? Didn't expect that, rly. Yeah, his relationship to Airi is kinda vague. Well, they should explain everything next week. We will see.

I had guessed that one of them was, but the way that Ari had acted I thought it was her heh.

The music and the Chigusa siblings were my sole reason for continuing with this show and their mother is the redeeming factor. Best mom ever.

So they can't save Airi and Gutoku? I mean it'd be nice if they did. I didn't expect Gutoku to be human tho. What if he's the only "unknown" that can have a legit human form?

Well that was a pretty predictable setup.
Their old "parents" want them to face off against and kill them so as to scare the Unknowns from ever invading the Earth. I think the expository talk between the two of them before they killed off the unknowns trying to remove the kids from the pods was enough of an indication of that.
I'm assuming the 6 main kids will face off and win against Airi because she let them. Her interactions with them made it so that she actually developed feelings for these kids, and her sacrificing her life to stop the invasion of the Earth is her ultimate expression of love for these kids. Not sure what Gutoku is going to do though, maybe he'll try dying along with Airi.

Predictable outcome if you ask me.

Gutoko is a human...great.....so I'm guessing that the unknown that Maihime and Houtaro is facing be Airi in her true form.

So Gutoku was a human all along, huh. And I guess it's pretty obvious who the Unknown is at the end of this episode. I wonder how they will wrap it all up in the finale next week.

I really wish the series was as well done as Iwasaki's soundtrack. But at least the series is going to give me a great bit of music to listen to. There's some good character in there somewhere it just didn't know where to go until about halfway through the series. The pacing was all over the place. Also calling it now that bone thing is Airi.

So Aoi still can't accept the fact that the beings who took care of her and everyone else and treated them like family, aren't humans and are their real enemies. Hotaru and Maihime want to fight them, not for revenge, but to see if what they now know is really the truth or not. And Suzaku is fighting because he wants to look cool in front of Canaria.

The main characters go to destroy the gate and save the sleeping children. And Airi shows up who happens to be the unknown responsible for the gate. If she's dead then the unknowns can't come to the human lands anymore. And Gutoku turns out to be a human who has joined the enemy. He was either at some high position and betrayed the humans, or he joined them because they seemed like they would win and offered his expertise in human handling or whatever, or he fell in love with Airi and decided to stay by her side no matter what.

Also, is it just me or are the number of crappie shots increasing in number? I think I found myself cringing at the terrible visuals more than the previous episodes. Well, not that I expected better from A-1.

ho-hum and to be honest the naval battle scene in this ep is much worse than In real life only the Railgun firing against unknown ships unlike those from IRL that are firing their main guns,Torpedoes and some AA-guns and also Ichiya is still annoying and a Bastard outta hell :P

I didn't saw the thing of Gutoku being a true human coming. Totally took me for surprise. His relationship with Airi seems vague, so, maybe he is her lover or something like that?

I have to admit the show turned put being better of what I expected. The visuals are awful and some things could have been done, but I surprisingly found the plot twists good.

I have the feeling Aoi is going to fuck something. I hope being wrong.

After last weeks revelation and the start of the counter offensive against the
aliens i was looking forward to this episode

Have to say that Airi and the commander are cute together
its a shame that they are on the wrong side though. They been in human form for so long that they don't remember what they were before eh.

And as ever Commander Johannes is as energetic and lively as ever and she isn't afraid to enter combat herself. Just like her children i guess lol
Still she's too judgmental though especially with unknowns.

Combat as ever is spot on

I really feel for Aoi though because both her parents and world that she thought she lived in was a lie.

Well icchan and Cana are finally together and its about time lol

So to destroy the gate they are going to use a commando raid with the main cast eh Bold indeed and should i say just as expected.

And the twist at the end

So airi and the commander were human all along eh

Overall a good episode that advanced the plot and shipped Icchan and Cana
Can't wait to see what happens next week

Nice to know the villains have such emotions, honestly started getting a little feelsy. Too bad their faces still look so off.

Anyway... the mom... really is a bit controlling... and violent... Glad she is out of commission and the children are taking over... forcibly. And then they ditched everybody else for the final battle, that I look forward to.

I liked the plot twist. About Gotoku being human all along. I guess that he fell for Airi and because of that, he switch his allegiance to the unknowns.

And in a few episodes back, i compared Hime as Field General and Kasumi as Supreme Commander. This episode shows with no doubt that roles that they played. While Kasumi takes control of his mother army and makes the plan to attack the tower, Hime raised the morale of the battered soldiers.

Kasumi and hime are the best characters in the show.

I still do not understand the purpose of the plot, playing the protagonists of one side to the other, I do not think they are fully determined to fight, in fact they seem totally lost, I hope at least to see a creative and surprising end for this anime, and with a better animation at least in the last episode ..

Totally saw that Gotoku was human from a mile away. It was kind of obvious that he was the human one while Airi's suprised reactions to human affections was a dead give away from the start. This is the forbidden love trope where a human falls in love with an alien just like Avatar(Blue Alien Giants Movie) & The Host. He betrays the human race out of love and believes that both races can come into an understanding.

If you remember what he said at the ending you'd know he is definitely human 'cause he'd obviously gain nothing from lying and Airi keeps implying that he is human and she is too different to him.
He is like how Slaine from Aldnoah.Zero chose Mars over Earth even though he's from Earth
and how Jake Sully from Avatar chose the Navi over the human race
or how Wanderer from the Host chose to side with the humans.

When has the art/animation not being terrible for this show?

First few episodes was OK. But the terrible animation became very noticeable after the second half of the series. It's quite disturbing though coz this is A-1 Pictures.

Am I the only one who is confused by the plot?

Seriously,I doesn't know much about who's human, who's not...since the characters are not very noticeable in here. From my knowledge, the characters are from the "cold factory" who are escaped from the past, then insert the code...Then,my question is who's "the mother"???

Next question is they travelled to the "real" world then why there're still unknowns existed...

The whole plot is just rather confusing to me...

Hope for a better boss fight though...

At least the light/weapons vfx were kinda cool, balances derp drawings.
So Airi's an anchor for this gate, and she plans her death would stop comrades from invading. Interesting. Gutoku surprising he's human but does it matter at this stage?

I thought their plan was to successfully captured both Airi and Gutoku, since they're killing their own kind and cared for the children.
The story would be better if one "Unknown" defect to human faction and working together fighting her own kind. too bad it's a good bye for Airi and Gutoku.

maybe, just maybe, Airi and Gutoku actually a husband and wife when she still a human. then her body get possesed by the Unknown, but Gutoku still accept it because the body still remain like his wife?
there must be a strong reason for Gutoku to choose Unknown faction over human.
