THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

for the most annoying character in this whole goddamn show, this was actually quite sad

holy shit we've come a long way, AND IT'S STILL THE 29TH GODDAMN EPISODE

JESUS SHIT WILL THEY EVER GET OUT OF THIS ISLAND
if it's soon then WHAT THE HELL WILL HAPPEN FOR THE REMAINING HALF OF THE SHOW???

sheeeeeeeeeeeeit this muffuccin show is way too good to be something for kids

it lacks the in-depth specificity and complexity of how usual shounen and seinen sci-fi shows would, but they have the basic specific things down to the point that it's such a shame madhouse couldn't have gone all out

This was definitely the saddest episode, as much as this anime can be sad. I think Howard has always been a sympathetic character, but seeing that he's conscious of way more than we thought (thinking of himself as a pariah, his own failures within the group, that he's made true friends) makes him probably the most complex character in this show. His outward behaviour can be partially understood as guilt about the whole button pushing thing. Not only that, but he's definitely suffered the most mental strain on the island, sometimes the show goes too far with 'punishing' Howard for his personality.

The forgiveness and friendship was beautiful, as should be expected. Very nicely done.

I firmly hope that the displayed character development won't be go to waste. This episode in particular managed to flesh out Howards perspective, which made me appreciate him as a chracter a lot more and apart from that, it also managed to be quite moving.

No matter what u guys say I still think Howard is the annoying character of this anime, it's not his changing or his intention to say his sorry about the shuttle, it's something about his design, being nice it's just not him and I dnn't car about the show punishing him too hard.

In the end every anime have to had a character that is annoying and hatred, after all Howard is generally not useful at all and doing his annoying and hatred part in this anime well, only at the end I got a bit like of him...

Beyond of all that, this is a really good episode, more few eps and this bad arc going to finish.

Most wouldn't have forgave Howard for pushing the button, but those guys are really great for putting everything behind.

He's changed, man.

Really well choreographed fight scene in the first half. It was really intense.

In the second half, I almost cried. I was so close. Howard's been my favourite character since the beginning, and that was so fucking sad.

You gotta blame the ship designers for putting the release switch in such an obvious location that screams "PLEASE PUSH ME".
You just can't spell slaughter without laughter...
